An international school in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Media Teacher for Middle to Secondary levels. The ideal candidate will hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree and a teaching qualification, with strong classroom management and English communication skills. Develop lesson plans and themes in line with curriculum objectives specific for teaching Media subjects at Middle to Secondary grade levels. Instruct through lectures, discussions, and demonstrations. Use computers, audiovisual aids, and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the varying needs and interests of students. Facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with students and organizing learning resources and the classroom environment. Meet with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve any behavioral or academic issues. Attend professional development workshops and educational conferences to maintain and improve professional competence. Establish and enforce rules for class management and student behavior. Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate student progress.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Media or related Subjects from a recognized University in the US, CA, AU, NZ, UK, ZA (Preferably from US due to American Curriculum)
- Teaching qualification from one of the following countries: US, CA, AU, NZ, UK, ZA
- Excellent English communication skills
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to handle student behavior issues
Required Experience:
- Minimum 3 years teaching experience at Middle-High School grade levels
- Culturally sensitive, dependable, flexible, and adaptable to a changing environment
Salary and Benefits:
- Monthly tax-free salary ranging from AED 11,000 to 13,000, depending on qualifications and experience
- Housing: After the second year, a one-bedroom furnished school apartment
- Health insurance: 100% medical coverage for employee only (dependents covered at employee's expense)
- Annual return airfare for employee only; dependents are the employee's responsibility
- Relocation air ticket at the beginning and end of contract for employee only
- Leave: Minimum of 30 paid work days per year, in addition to official holidays, as per academic calendar and local labor law
- Dependents' school fees: 100% discount for the first child, 50% for the second child attending the same school
- Visa and medical check fees paid by the school for employee only
