Job Description:

We are currently seeking a technically proficient and resourceful Technician - Mechatronic to join our BEEAH team. This role is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance and repair activities are carried out in accordance with the established maintenance plan. The Technician will primarily focus on troubleshooting and repairing robotics systems and PLC controls associated with our automated waste management equipment. Additionally, the incumbent will be expected to manage and monitor maintenance tasks, communicate effectively with the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Engineer, and provide daily updates regarding work progress, maintenance schedules, and spare parts requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electronic, and PLC control systems in heavy-duty vehicles and equipment (e.g., side-loading refuse compactors and bin washers).
  • Perform high-quality troubleshooting using diagnostic tools and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Repair hydraulic components including cylinders, valves, hoses, pumps, and related controls.
  • Collaborate with workshop teams to resolve technical complaints and support maintenance operations.
  • Maintain accurate service records and submit daily repair reports.
  • Ensure all work complies with HSSE policies and company documentation standards.
  • Safeguard tools, equipment, and infrastructure, and complete tasks within assigned timelines.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of spare parts, maintenance, and repair of project-related equipment and tools.
  • Ability to read hydraulic circuit diagrams is preferred; ability to read electrical and PLC drawings is mandatory.
  • Hands-on experience with side loader compactors and bin washers is a plus.
  • OEM-certified training is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in fleet workshop settings, with solid expertise in hydraulics, mechatronics, and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Proven track record working with side-loading RCVs and bin washers.

  • Advanced Troubleshooting – Strong ability to diagnose and resolve hydraulic, mechanical, and PLC-related issues in heavy-duty equipment.
  • Technical Reading Skills – Proficient in interpreting hydraulic circuit diagrams, electrical schematics, and PLC drawings.
  • Hydraulic Systems Expertise – In-depth knowledge of hydraulic components, including valves, pumps, cylinders, and control systems.
  • PLC and Mechatronics Proficiency – Hands-on experience with electronic control systems, PLC programming, and automation technologies.
  • Preventive Maintenance – Skilled in planning and executing routine maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Workshop Collaboration & Reporting – Effective communication and teamwork within workshop environments, with strong documentation and reporting habits.
