Job summary

Canadian University Dubai (CUD) seeks a Laboratory Technician to support undergraduate teaching laboratories for Mechatronics and Power & Renewable Energy programs. The role ensures safe operations, reliable equipment, and accreditation readiness while enabling staff to focus on teaching and research.

You will manage inventory, prepare experiments, calibrate and troubleshoot equipment, and provide technical assistance during classes and workshops.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechatronics/Power Engineering or related field.
• Formal training or hands-on experience in laboratory support roles is required.
• Hands-on experience with electrical and mechatronics lab equipment is essential.
• Knowledge of robotics, automation systems, renewable energy, PLCs, and power electronics is advantageous.
• Strong lab safety practices and effective troubleshooting skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Manage laboratory inventory, consumables, and equipment records.
• Prepare, set up, and test laboratory experiments for teaching sessions.
• Provide technical assistance during laboratory classes, demos, and workshops.
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot equipment to ensure reliable performance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and accreditation requirements.
• Support student projects and capstone activities, providing safety guidance.
