Mechanical Technician – Syncrolift and Shipyard

Job Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

What Does a Mechanical Technician Do?

• Perform fault diagnosis, systematic strip-down, and repairs of mechanical equipment such as cranes, winches, pumps, compressors, and valves.
• Carry out maintenance and overhauls of syncrolift systems, Rexroth shiplifts, sheaves, and gearboxes.
• Replace wire ropes and ensure proper function of heavy lifting systems.
• Plan and request spare parts in advance to minimize procurement delays and equipment downtime.
• Support installation of new mechanical systems and infrastructure at port or shipyard facilities.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in all job areas.
• Act as foreman on assigned projects when required and support daily departmental operations.
• Inspect materials and report defects prior to use to ensure safety and quality.
• Work closely with supervisors, foremen, and management to maintain efficient operations.
• Participate in technical training and departmental workshops as needed.
