JOB PURPOSE:
Perform maintenance repairs and services on mechanical machinery and equipment to ensure efficient operation and minimize downtime in power generation facilities, including simple and combined cycle Power Generation blocks and Balance of Plant.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Efficiently repair and maintain a wide range of mechanical equipment and systems in the power plant.
- Carry out preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance with minimal supervision, including "on call" duties as required, restoring mechanical systems promptly.
- Assist Technician Engineers or independently handle assigned jobs, understanding relevant methods, procedures, risks, and selecting appropriate tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform maintenance in compliance with EHS standards and plant operational requirements to minimize workplace accidents.
- Monitor recurring breakdowns and implement solutions to prevent their reoccurrence.
- Supervise contract workforce for maintenance repairs and services according to plans.
- Be aware of exposure to physical and sensory hazards such as high pressure steam, high voltage, arc flash, magnetic fields, noise, fumes, heat, humidity, dust, heights, chemicals, acids, mineral oils, and liquids, and follow safety protocols to mitigate risks.
- Follow directions from supervisors, verbally or in writing.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Craft/Trade certificate, or equivalent qualification.
Minimum Experience:
- GCC experience required, specifically in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain markets.
- Diploma holders: at least 5 years of experience in a similar role within a thermal power plant.
- Craft/Trade certificate holders: at least 8 years of mechanical maintenance experience.
- Hands-on experience with GE Frame 9E/9FA Gas Turbines, steam turbines, waste heat boilers, thermal desalination, and other BOP equipment overhauls.
Skills:
- Proficiency with mechanical maintenance tools.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with PC operations.
- Knowledge of Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Waste Heat Boilers, Compressors, Pumps, Cooling Towers, and Reverse Osmosis Plants.
- Good command of English, both spoken and written.
- Excellent interpersonal and assertiveness skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team, including shift work.
