Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, breakdown troubleshooting, installation support, and ensuring HACCP/ISO 22000 compliance. Strong CMMS usage, accurate records, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 7–9 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in poultry processing or food manufacturing.
• Experience maintaining high‑speed packaging machinery and conveyors.
• Familiarity with HACCP/ISO 22000 and food safety standards.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and OEM manuals.

Responsibilities

• Operate, inspect, and maintain poultry processing equipment across processing, packing, and preparation areas.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and replace worn parts.
• Respond to and diagnose breakdowns; repair motors, pumps, valves, and hydraulic systems.
• Assist installation, alignment, and commissioning of new lines.
• Record maintenance activities and keep PM logs.
• Ensure hygiene and sanitation after maintenance; assist audits.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance team. The ideal candidate should have 7 to 9 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician within the poultry processing or food manufacturing industry.

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the mechanical integrity, reliability, and efficiency of all plant equipment. This includes maintaining and troubleshooting high-speed packaging machinery such as Ishida, Sandiacre, Metal Detectors, Modular Conveyor Belts, as well as equipment within the Processing Area (ovens, fryers, conveyors) and the Preparation Area (mixers, grinders, DSI cutting machines, and X-ray systems).

Job Responsibilities:

1.Equipment Maintenance

• Operate, inspect, and maintain poultry processing machinery, including:
• Preparation area machine (Mixers, Grinder, Tumbler, Loaders, Cutting Machine (DSI ) and Slicing, X-Ray)
• Processing Area (forming machine, Breading machine, Fryer, Oven, Fryer, Gyro, belt and wired conveyor)
• Packing Area (Ishida, Sandiacre, Metal Detector, Modular Conveyor Belt, Soco)
• Scalders and defeathering machine.
• Ensure machines run at optimal capacity and efficiency

2. Preventive Maintenance (PM)

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance per maintenance plans.
• Lubricate mechanical parts using food-grade lubricants.
• Inspect bearings, chains, belts, sprockets, shafts, seals, and gearboxes.
• Replace worn or damaged parts before failure occurs.
• Maintain PM records and logbooks accurately.

3. Breakdown & Troubleshooting

• Respond immediately to machine breakdowns to minimize production losses.
• Identify root causes of mechanical failures.
• Repair or replace faulty components such as:
  • Motors
  • Pumps
  • Valves
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Test equipment after repair to ensure safe return to operation.

4 Hygiene & Food Safety Compliance

• Ensure all mechanical work complies with food safety and hygiene standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000).
• Assemble equipment correctly after cleaning and sanitation.
• Use stainless steel fasteners and food-safe materials where required.
• Prevent contamination risks during maintenance activities.
• Assist in audits and inspections.

5.Installation & Commissioning

• Assist in installation, alignment, and commissioning of new machines or production lines.
• Interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and OEM documentation.
• Coordinate with suppliers or contractors during machine upgrades or shutdowns.
• Pumps and pipelines.
• Monitor abnormal vibration, noise, or leak.

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Complete maintenance work orders and breakdown reports.
• Update spare parts usage and inventory requests.
• Record daily maintenance activities and handover notes.

Highly Preferred:

• Experience in the further Processing plant or Protein Factories.
• Experience with JBT, GEA, BW Flexible, Ishida Machine Like (Ovens, Fryers, Wire belt Conveyor, Modular belt Conveyor, Mixer, Grinder, Scan Brine, Multi drum, Crumb Master, Butter machine).
• Experience with Packaging Machinery (Fill, seal, Vacuum Pump, Labellers, Ink Jet, X Ray).
• Proficiency in using CMMS.
