Job summary

Motherwell Bridge Industries Limited in the UAE seeks an experienced mechanical fitter to assist in assembly and erection of container handling cranes (RTG/ASC) across international sites. You will perform mechanical operations, ensure quality, and follow safety standards.

Candidates should have at least three years of relevant experience, a mechanical engineering certification or diploma, fluent English, and a valid driving licence.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years’ experience in a similar role in mechanical engineering, preferably crane assembly/erection.
• Mechanical Engineering certification and/or diploma from a reputable institution (City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Good command of English both written and spoken.
• Possess a valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical fitting and installations for container handling cranes (RTG/ASC) across international sites.
• Ensure mechanical operations, standards and controls meet international quality standards.
• Repair and perform preventive maintenance per established standards.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and rigging equipment daily.
• Work shifts flexibly as job demands; operate at heights 30–35 metres.
• Handle heavy industrial equipment (forklifts, scissor lifts, basket trucks, bobcats).

Job Description

• Main duties consist of mechanical fitting and installations in the assembly and erection of Container handling cranes such as RTG’s and ASC’s, such projects are undertaken in different countries around the world.
• Ensure mechanical operations, standards and controls are maintained according to international standards and high quality.
• Repair and perform preventive maintenance as per established standards.
• Use hand tools like power tools and rigging equipment daily.
• Work all shifts flexibly when job demands.
• Handle simple and complex heavy industrial equipment like forklifts, scissor lifts, basket trucks and bobcats.
• Be able to work at heights ranging from 30 to 35 metres above ground level.
• Able to work in confined spaces.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years’ experience in a similar role, ideally in the mechanical engineering industry, preferably in crane assembly and erection.
• In possession of Mechanical Engineering certification and/ or diploma issued by reputable institution, such as City & Guilds or similar.
• Good command of English both written and spoken
• Possess a valid driving licence.
