Job summary

UrbaCon Contracting & Trading Company is seeking a Mechanical Technical Engineer to supervise draftsmen, verify shop drawings, and review technical submittals during the project engineering phase. You will coordinate with architects and structural teams to ensure adherence to design drawings, standards and local regulations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of mechanical engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant working experience.
  • 2 years GCC experience is a plus.
  • Experience with mechanical shop drawings and submittals.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all discipline shop drawings follow design drawings, specs and details in coordination with other disciplines.
  • Maintain the drawings submission schedule to meet the project timeline and quality targets.
  • Ensure shop drawings comply with local authorities, HSE rules and project standards (QCS2014).
  • Review and approve mechanical shop drawings before submission.
  • Review and approve mechanical design calculations before submission.
  • Review and approve method statements in line with project specs and approvals.
  • Liaise with architectural/structural teams for reviews and approvals.
  • Support HSE initiatives and safety awareness aligned with IMS policies.

Job Summary

The Mechanical Technical Engineer supervises and follow up mechanical draftsmen work schedule, verify and check mechanical shop drawings and technical submittals.

Job Responsibilities 1
  • Ensure the discipline shop drawings are prepared in accordance with the relevant design drawings,specifications, details in coordination with all other disciplines.
  • Ensure that the drawings submission schedule efficiently within the target schedule in the best quality.
  • Ensure the shop drawings are executed in compliance with local authorities that has jurisdiction over the discipline scope of work i.e. Health and Safety and all standards applicable to the project such as QCS2014 and the project specifications.
  • Maintain adherence to the relevant Company's policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the satisfaction of the client, consultant and main contractor and MEP project manager/CM always.
  • Guide the technical engineers/draftsmen through the work activities management process throughoutthe duration of the project engineering phase. Assign specific targets to the various work activities.
  • Plan and allocate responsibilities to team members.
  • Review and approve Mechanical shop drawings before submission.
  • Review and approve Mechanical design calculations before submission.
  • Review and sign-off Mechanical material technical submittal before issuance to consultant.
  • Review and approve method statements in compliance with project specifications, authorities, etc...
  • Liaise with other technical departments(architect, structural..etc.............) for the relevant reviews, approvals etc.
  • Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies
