Job summary

GECO M&E LTD is seeking a Mechanical Site Engineer to lead day-to-day mechanical MEP site execution on complex UAE projects, including hotels, towers and large commercial developments.

You will coordinate across disciplines, review drawings, manage subcontractors, monitor progress and ensure quality, safety and schedule compliance on site.

Bachelor’s or diploma in mechanical engineering and 3–7 years of relevant experience are required; GCC experience is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3 to 7 years of relevant MEP contracting experience.
• Hands-on mechanical MEP site execution experience.
• Experience with hotel projects, high-rise towers, or large commercial developments preferred.
• UAE/GCC project experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage day-to-day mechanical MEP works at site.
• Ensure installation works follow approved shop drawings, specs and project requirements.
• Coordinate mechanical activities with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, civil and other site teams.
• Review drawings and identify technical issues or discrepancies before and during execution.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and site supervisors to ensure smooth execution.
• Monitor site progress and ensure activities are completed as per plan.
• Conduct site inspections to verify proper installation and workmanship.
• Coordinate inspections with consultants and clients and close technical comments.
• Prepare and maintain site reports, inspection requests, progress updates, and project documentation.
• Support testing, commissioning and handover activities for mechanical systems.
• Ensure compliance with project quality, health and safety requirements.
• Coordinate material requirements and ensure timely availability.

Job description

We are looking for a Mechanical Site Engineer with solid experience in MEP contracting and site execution. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in mechanical MEP works, preferably within hotel projects, high rise towers or large commercial developments.

The role will be responsible for managing day‑to‑day mechanical site activities, coordinating with other MEP disciplines and ensuring works are completed as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure installation works are carried out as per approved shop drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Coordinate mechanical activities with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, civil and other site teams.
• Review drawings and identify technical issues or discrepancies before and during execution.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and site supervisors to ensure smooth execution.
• Monitor site progress and ensure activities are completed within the planned schedule.
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure proper installation and workmanship.
• Coordinate inspections with consultants and clients and close technical comments.
• Prepare and maintain site reports, inspection requests, progress updates and other project documentation.
• Support testing, commissioning and handover activities for mechanical systems.
• Ensure compliance with project quality, health and safety requirements.
• Coordinate material requirements and ensure materials are available as per the project schedule.
• Assist the Project Manager and Construction Manager in resolving site‑related technical and coordination issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in MEP contracting or mechanical contracting companies.
• Strong hands‑on experience in mechanical MEP site execution.
• Experience with MEP contractors or contracting companies is mandatory. Candidates with only developer, consultant or client‑side experience will not be preferred.
• Experience in hotel projects, high rise towers, luxury residential, commercial buildings or large‑scale developments is preferred.
• Good understanding of mechanical MEP drawings, specifications and installation standards.
• Experience coordinating with consultants, subcontractors and other MEP disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of site execution, inspections, testing and commissioning.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple site activities and work within project deadlines.
• UAE/GCC project experience will be an advantage.
