Job summary

Job description

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Mechanical Inspector to oversee and ensure the quality, safety, and compliance of mechanical systems and installations in our architectural projects. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, and a proven ability to manage on-site inspections while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful projects.

Inspection and Supervision
  • Monitor the installation of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with approved designs, specifications, and standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems to ensure quality and functionality.
  • Verify that materials and equipment used in construction meet project requirements and safety standards.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies, defects, or non-compliance issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
  • Ensure all mechanical installations adhere to local codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, including records of tests, commissioning activities, and certifications.
  • Assist in preparing punch lists and ensure all mechanical systems are completed and operational before project handover.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Work closely with project managers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve on-site issues related to mechanical systems.
  • Participate in coordination meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to site teams and contractors.
Testing and Commissioning
  • Oversee the testing and commissioning of mechanical systems to confirm performance and functionality.
  • Witness and verify pressure tests, airflow tests, and other system performance checks.
  • Document test results and ensure systems meet operational and design specifications.
Safety Oversight
  • Ensure all mechanical installations and related activities comply with health and safety protocols.
  • Report any safety violations or hazards to the Site Manager or Safety Officer.
  • Promote safe work practices on-site, particularly in mechanical work areas.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • Familiarity with construction drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in using mechanical testing tools and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues on-site.
  • Strong communication and report‑writing skills.
