A leading company in the UAE is seeking a Mechanical Discipline Engineer with a strong background in mechanical equipment design and operations. The successful candidate will lead teams, ensure compliance with project execution plans, and manage mechanical package installations, with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in shipyards. This role demands excellent leadership skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment, facilitating clear communication and collaboration on complex projects.

Work as a key member of the Mechanical discipline team.
Interface with JV MC team and AIP Commissioning and operations team to ensure clear guidance and clarifications regarding scope of work, specifically for Mechanical MC and punch close-out.
Monitor and coordinate with Vendors, JV ATS, Project procurement expeditors, and package responsible engineers to ensure Mechanical package installation completion based on the WP scope of work.
Ensure proper working practices for Mechanical packages/equipment installation, alignment, and leveling in accordance with Vendor requirements and Mechanical completion criteria.
Collaborate with JV and Altera MC teams to ensure all Mechanical equipment is properly scoped in PIMS for MC close-out.
Assist AIP operations team and Contractors in arranging required condition assessment inspections by contractors and OEMs.
Work with AIP Regulatory Compliance & Verification Lead and Contractors to define and execute compliance and verification activities within the mechanical discipline.
Review and comment on mechanical discipline documents prepared by Contractors/vendors.
Review Mechanical design documents, focusing on operability, functionality, accessibility, and maintainability to meet legal, regulatory, class, flag, and contractual requirements.
Monitor and review Contractor Mechanical activities and deliverables for compliance with all regulatory and contractual requirements, ensuring compatibility and functionality of vessel systems and equipment.
Participate in meetings and inspections, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
Contribute lessons learned input to the AIP Project Management Team.
Close assigned Technical Queries (TQ) and other Action Tracker items in PIMS or formal MOM.
Liaise with subcontractors/vendors at the shipyard to monitor daily construction activities.
Other Roles: Collaborate with other disciplines, call on discipline resources as needed, and ensure good communication and cooperation between the project and base organization.
Accountabilities: Responsible for mechanical packages during construction and commissioning, ensuring activities conform to contract requirements, Project Execution Plan, laws, and regulations. Report delays and scope changes to the Construction Manager/Mechanical Lead.
