Job summary

Group AMANA seeks a Mechanical Estimator with hands-on experience in estimating and tendering for Oil & Gas and industrial projects. The role involves material take-offs, RFIs RFQs, cost estimation, BOQs, and tender preparation, with strong interpretation of drawings, specs and international codes.

The position requires 3-5 years in mechanical estimation, and a proactive approach to digitisation and process improvement within tendering teams.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical estimation/tendering.
• Experience on Greenfield and Brownfield projects.
• Hands-on experience with Material Take-Off (MTO), RFIs & RFQs, BOQ preparation, cost estimation and tendering.

Responsibilities

• Review and administer tender documents with accurate documentation.
• Analyse drawings, specifications and BOQs to understand project scope.
• Prepare MTOs, quantity calculations and BOQs.
• Develop cost estimates, rate build-ups and unit rates.
• Generate RFIs and RFQs with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare quotation sheets and support supplier evaluations.
• Identify discrepancies between drawings and BOQs and resolve them.
• Support negotiations by recommending discount levels where appropriate.
• Develop scope breakdowns and ensure accurate tenders and pricing.

Group AMANA is looking for a Mechanical Estimator with experience in estimating and tendering for Oil & Gas and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in material take-offs, RFIs, RFQs, cost estimation, BOQs and tender preparation, with a strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications and international mechanical codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and administer tender documents, ensuring accurate and systematic documentation.
• Analyse engineering drawings, specifications and BOQs to understand the complete project scope.
• Prepare Material Take-Offs (MTOs), quantity calculations and BOQs.
• Prepare cost estimates, basic rate build-ups and accurate unit rates.
• Generate and follow up on RFIs and RFQs with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare quotation/commercial comparison sheets and support supplier/subcontractor evaluation.
• Review and identify discrepancies or contradictions between drawings, specifications and BOQs.
• Support negotiations by recommending reasonable supplier/subcontractor discount levels.
• Develop scope breakdowns and ensure accurate quantities, rates and overall tender pricing.
• Understand project construction sequences and identify critical items requiring operational/technical input.
• Support tender review packs and value engineering/value analysis activities.
• Maintain tendering logs and estimation data accurately.
• Use estimation software to support efficient and data-driven tendering.
• Contribute to improving tendering processes, digitisation and innovative estimation practices.

Required Experience & Technical Skills

• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical estimation/tendering.
• Experience working on Greenfield and Brownfield projects.
