Mechanical Engineer (Design)

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Mechanical Engineer (Design) to join our team. In this role you will perform conventional Mechanical engineering design assignments applying Mechanical engineering techniques and analysis within a discipline.

Responsibilities

What You\'ll Be Doing:

  • Independently develops and/or supervises the creation of Mechanical engineering designs for Mechanical systems and pressurized networks for large and mega infrastructure projects that meet customer quality requirements and international as well as Local Authority regulations and standards. This includes defining the problem, establishing the work scope, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status.
  • Strong infrastructure engineering background with previous experience on infrastructure projects calculations, and report writing skills.
  • Shall be able to analyze the specific project requirements for greenfield, brownfield projects.
  • Design of mechanical equipment for Sewerage Treatment Plants, and various Storm water, Sewage, Irrigation Pumping Stations.
  • Preparation of design reports, tender documents and securing design approvals for different project phases including coordination with client/authorities/sub consultants.
  • Review of design reports prepared by other consultants and preparation of design review reports.
  • Experience in using MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks environment and BIM software as well as Revit software is necessary.
  • Verifying clash analysis and resolving the clashes in 3D models.
  • Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designers/Drafters, Designers, Junior Engineers working on the same project. Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
  • Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required.
  • Support the preparation of detailed technical, commercial and Life Cycle Cost Analysis of various technical alternatives. Prepare and deliver detailed technical PowerPoint presentations for Clients. Experience in preparing technical design reports with minimum support from managers.
Qualifications

What Required Skills You\'ll Bring:

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from an approved university.
  • Minimum 5 years of detailed design experience on Mechanical systems for drainage, sewerage, irrigation and fire pump stations.
  • Affiliation with the recognized standard bodies is an added advantage. In addition, other specialist Training Certificates may be required.
  • Recent experience in Mechanical designs to local and international standards.
  • Extensive experience and proficiency in using BIM and Revit.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of NFPA regulations, and various local authority standards in the GCC; Dubai preferred.

What Desired Skills You\'ll Bring:

  • Approval from DM / RTA would be an added advantage.
