Job Description

Job Summary: The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for coordinating the final electromechanical installation and station commissioning, overseeing maintenance, repairs, and performance optimization of electromechanical equipment within power transmission assets. This role contributes to the reliability and efficiency of the assets and related equipment. The Mechanical Engineer will develop and implement maintenance schedules, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Additionally, the engineer will assist the Project Manager in site construction and commissioning activities, and post-energization, support the Maintenance Manager in organizing maintenance activities to maintain asset condition, ensure HSE compliance, and meet project performance indicators.

Responsibilities/Authorities:

  • Coordinate electromechanical installation activities and commissioning as the company's site representative.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with HSE standards, contractual requirements, and laws.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance based on OEM recommendations and procedures.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, fault analysis, and diagnostic evaluations to minimize downtime.
  • Prepare and submit maintenance, troubleshooting, and fault analysis reports.
  • Issue daily work orders, follow up on maintenance tasks, and update records in the CMMS.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, prepare purchase orders, and ensure preventive maintenance on spare parts.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in high-voltage electrical network operation, maintenance, or related fields.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, maintenance software, and power transmission equipment.
  • Knowledge of industry standards (IEEE, IEC) and safety regulations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in challenging environments, including field locations and high-voltage areas.
  • Experience in electromechanical system maintenance for power transmission assets (mandatory).
  • Experience in electromechanical installation and commissioning of power transmission assets (mandatory).
  • Familiarity with HVDC or FACTS systems (preferred).
  • Skills in fault analysis, diagnostics, and maintenance documentation.
  • Experience with CMMS and maintenance planning.
  • Exceptional communication skills for technical conveyance.
  • Experience with field operations, installation, commissioning, and repair on HV systems.
  • Understanding of maintenance contracts, procurement, and vendor management for HV equipment.

Work Details: Primarily office-based with frequent travel to offshore and onshore facilities. Flexibility to work outside standard hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed. Call on duty.
