Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed plant layouts and P&ID for wastewater treatment plants.
  • Conduct site visits for as-built drawings and collaborate with project teams.
  • Create isometric drawings and generate BOM from 3D models.

Position Overview: As a Mechanical Draughtsman specializing in the water and wastewater treatment industry you will be integral to the successful execution of water and wastewater treatment projects. Your role involves translating conceptual designs and engineering plans into detailed technical drawings requiring a keen understanding of mechanical systems components and adherence to industry-specific standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plant Layout and Design:

Develop detailed plant layouts for wastewater treatment plants based on site locations.

Create Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID) and Hydraulic Flow Diagrams (HFD).

Prepare Plant and equipment Layout plans and Civil General Arrangement drawings.

2. Civil and Structural Detailing:

Enhance Civil Foundation Drawings generating sectional views and details for civil structures.

Design Pipe Supports and provide detailed drawings.

3. Piping Design:

Develop Piping Layouts and Isometric Drawings including Pipe support design and detail.

Generate Piping Bill of Material (BOM) with specifications.

4. 3D Modeling:

Develop 3D models for equipment steel tanks skids vessels PVC CS & SS piping and cable routing.

Generate detailed 2D drawings from 3D models.

5. Electrical Design:

Create Electrical layouts and schematic drawings.

Generate Isometrics & BOM from 3D Models.

6. Site Coordination:

Conduct site visits to collect dimensions and develop as-built drawings.

Collaborate with project engineers site engineers and clients.

7. Software Proficiency:

Proficient in 3D Modeling software including AutoCAD Plant 3D AutoCAD 2D & 3D E3D

8. Knowledge and Qualifications:

Familiarity with ASTM ASME Standards

Diploma in mechanical/electrical engineering with a certified course in AutoCAD.

9. Communication and Collaboration:

Possess good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Collaborate effectively with project engineers site engineers and clients.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

Experience in designing valves as per customer applications and relevant standards.

Proficient in drafting Mechanical Assembly Detailed Drawings & BOM.

Experience in assembly & detailing with an awareness of engineering standards & practices.

Experience in larger pumping stations will be preferred.

Qualifications:

Proficiency in AutoCAD software and other drafting tools.

Minimum of 7 years of experience as an AutoCAD draftsman.

Industry experience in engineering or construction is preferred.
