A confidential construction firm is seeking a skilled MEP Draftsman with solid experience to produce and coordinate detailed shop drawings for mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with regulations and site conditions. The ideal candidate will possess a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, excellent AutoCAD skills, and the ability to manage workload effectively under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in UAE / India / GCC in a similar role.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Good communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed MEP shop drawings for mechanical systems (HVAC, water supply, drainage).

Job description

1. Prepare detailed MEP shop drawings for mechanical systems (HVAC, water supply, drainage).

2. Coordinate with MEP engineers, architects, and other drafting personnel to ensure design integrity and accuracy.

3. Modify and update drawings based on site conditions, consultant comments, and coordination meetings.

4. Ensure all drawings comply with relevant standards, codes, and authority regulations (DEWA, DCD, DM, etc.).

5. Perform quantity take-offs from drawings for procurement and estimation purposes.

6. Maintain a systematic archive of drawings and project documentation.

7. Attend coordination meetings and participate in resolving design conflicts.

8. Prepare As-Built drawings based on site installation and markups.

Desired Candidate Profile

1. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

2. Minimum 5-8 years of experience in UAE / India / GCC in a similar role.

3. Proficient in AutoCAD and other drafting software preferred.

4. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and their installation practices.

5. Good communication skills in English.

6. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
