Job summary

Vertiv Group Corporation seeks a Mechanical Engineer – Design (Medium Voltage Switchgear) to execute detailed mechanical design of MV switchgear panels, ensuring manufacturability and IEC compliance. You will collaborate with electrical engineering and production teams, develop GA and fabrication drawings, and drive design improvements for cost efficiency and reliable performance in AIS/GIS up to 36kV.

Applicants should bring 4–8 years of relevant experience and a strong background in sheet

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
4–8 years of experience in switchgear, panel boards, or similar sheet metal enclosure industry.
Strong knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication processes.
Hands-on experience in SolidWorks / AutoCAD / similar 3D modeling tools.
Understanding IEC 62271 enclosure and internal arc requirements.
Knowledge of surface treatment, powder coating, and corrosion protection standards.

Responsibilities

Design sheet metal enclosures, panel structures, and mounting arrangements for MV switchgear (AIS/GIS up to 36kV).
Develop GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and detailed part drawings.
Coordinate with electrical to meet IEC 62271 requirements and thermal criteria.
Support FAT preparation and resolve mechanical NCRs with root-cause analysis.
