Job summary

Velath Engineering International FZC in Sharjah, UAE, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer responsible for the design and detailed engineering of pressure vessels and storage tanks.

The ideal candidate will have a four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least seven years of experience. Proficiency in software like PV-Elite, AutoCAD, and Solid Works is required, along with a sound understanding of mechanical design codes.

Qualifications

• Minimum seven years’ experience in a professional engineering position.
• Sound understanding of mechanical design engineering principles and codes including ASME, ASTM, API.
• Knowledge of API650 is an advantage.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

• Mechanical design and detailed engineering of pressure vessels and storage tanks to ASME Sec. VIII Div 1.
• Full-scale detailing of pressure vessels and storage tanks.
• Design of secondary structures and detailing.
• Consult with production department and other departments for optimization and cost reduction while ensuring that designs are feasible.
• Consult with fabrication teams during product manufacturing, advising them on design specifications and providing physical assistance when required.
• Coordinate independently and with colleagues with clients, end-users and vendor with regard to all aspects of design and engineering.
• Attend regular team meetings to provide progress reports, obtain updates on progress, strategize on steps to ensure timely delivery.

Job Skills & Qualifications

• Four-year Mechanical Engineering.
• Sound understanding of mechanical design engineering principles and codes including ASME, ASTM, API, etc. Must have participated in ASME Joint Audit.
• Sound knowledge for interpretation of data sheets and P&IDs.
• Experience with Div 2 is an advantage, but not a requirement.
• Minimum seven years’ experience in a professional engineering position.
• Knowledge of API650 is an advantage.
• Proficiency with PV-Elite AutoCAD, Solid Works (preferred) and Microsoft Office.
