Mechanic
The Mechanic will assist Aircraft Technicians / Licensed Aircraft Engineers with the maintenance of EK and third-party aircraft, ensuring compliance with GCAA regulations.
In This Role You Will
- Assist senior staff with activities such as aircraft fuel handling, wheels & brakes servicing, nitrogen recharging, engine servicing, etc., to support departmental operations.
- Carry out basic support servicing and component replacements of EK and third-party aircraft under the supervision of Licensed Engineers.
- Inspect all equipment before use, ensure operational status, and report faults to the supervisor for repairs.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and systems (including Ultramain) in the work area.
- Ensure safety of self and others by adhering to safety protocols, monitoring the work environment, and maintaining cleanliness to prevent accidents.
- Clean aircraft/engine parts according to manual specifications.
- Assist during push-back operations to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Support snag rectification and component changes with special tools to ensure aircraft readiness and prevent delays.
Qualifications & Skills
- Vocational, National, Higher National Diploma (12+2 or equivalent), or apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electronic, Avionics, or Aeronautical Engineering, or equivalent training with a reputable airline or maintenance organization.
- Ability to handle hazardous chemicals and substances safely.
- Ability to read and understand analogue and digital measuring devices related to pressure, temperature, and flow.
- Valid Airport Driving Permit if required.
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices.
- Awareness of safety procedures.
- Knowledge of routine servicing of ground equipment and the ability to identify and record unserviceability for immediate rectification.
Total Cabin Maintenance
- Knowledge of Paint Restoration/Artistic Painting is desirable.
