Job summary

Tanqeeb, a Tier 1 main contracting client in Dubai, seeks an experienced Civil Measurement Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a 3-6 month contract outsourced through J10 Consulting.

Candidates should have extensive civil measurement/quantity surveying experience on mid/high rise projects and UAE main contracting exposure, with strong cost control and contract administration skills.

Qualifications

• BSC in Quantity Surveying from a recognised institution.
• Experience in measurement works on major civil build projects.
• 4+ years UAE experience in recognised main contracting companies.
• Knowledge of QS software including SAP.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient written English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and BOQs.
• Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Analyze project costs and monitor budgets.
• Prepare tender documentation and assist procurement.
• Measure completed work and prepare interim valuations and final accounts.
• Assess and manage project variations, change orders, and claims.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, designers, contractors, and clients to ensure cost control.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, project specifications, and local regulations.
• Prepare revised Contract forecast and monthly performance reports in conjunction with the Project Manager & Commercial Manager.
• Reconcile actual bulk material quantities against Tender and Contract documents.
• Participate in meetings with the Project Manager & Commercial Manager with Consultant, Subcontractors, etc. in pursuance of commercial and contractual matters.
• Assess ‘Risk’ items in BOQ or drawings and advise on remedial measures.
• Offer assistance to progress development within the Commercial Department.
• Procurement of domestic subcontract packages from sending enquiries, review, negotiation, all paper works to finalizing.
• Procurement of nominated subcontract packages from the receipt of Engineer’s Instruction to Finalizing the works
• Assist in estimating the new project such as sending enquiries, follow up, paper works, sending pre tender queries to the Engineer, updating the vendors, working on selling price etc.

Our Tier 1 Main Contracting Client has a new requirement for a well experienced Civil Measurement Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Dubai, UAE. Successful candidates will have extensive Civil Measurement / Quantity Surveying experience on civil construction projects including mid / high rise residential, commercial, mixed use and retail building projects. Only candidates who have worked for a recognised main contracting company previously will be consideredThis role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 3-6 month contract position, outsourced through J10 Consulting. There is an option after 6 months to transfer to client staff to suit all parties

Key Responsibilities

Quantity Surveyor Experience

• BSC in Quantity Surveying from a recognised institution preferred
• Experience in measurement works on major civil build construction projects
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience with at least 1-2 years’ UAE, experience in recognised main contracting companies working on major civil construction projects
• Knowledge in the use of QS and SAP software is required;
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
• Possess good project background and proven English language technical writing ability and skills
