Job summary

SoftwareOne is a global provider of software and cloud solutions seeking a Services Finance Controller in the UAE to establish and operate a structured financial control framework across the consulting and services portfolio.

You will report to the Middle East & Africa Finance Director and partner with Delivery and Services leadership to ensure timely visibility of financial risks, disciplined forecasting, and proactive intervention on underperforming projects.

Qualifications

• Finance controlling experience in consulting or professional services.
• Experience with percentage-of-completion accounting and IFRS revenue recognition.
• Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
• Ability to work closely with delivery and operational teams.
• Strong understanding of project profitability drivers and forecasting methodologies.
• Advanced Excel and ERP/reporting system capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Review monthly revenue recognition, WIP, and unbilled revenue balances; identify delivery issues and revenue risks.
• Monitor backlog yield, TCV metrics, and overall financial control effectiveness.
• Monitor project profitability, costs, and margins; identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead annual services budgeting and support monthly forecasting activities.
• Deliver structured financial reporting, analysis, and insights to support decisions.

The Services Finance Controller will establish and operate a structured financial control framework across the consulting and services portfolio to proactively manage revenue recognition integrity, unbilled revenue exposure, project profitability, and cost overrun risks. The role will report to the Middle East & Africa Finance Director and act as a financial business partner to Delivery and Services leadership, ensuring timely visibility of financial risks, disciplined forecasting, and proactive intervention on underperforming projects.

Revenue Recognition & Financial Control

• Review monthly revenue recognition, WIP, and unbilled revenue balances, identifying delivery issues and revenue risks.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal revenue recognition policies, including percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Monitor backlog yield, TCV metrics, and overall financial control effectiveness.

Project Profitability & Risk Management

• Monitor project profitability, costs, and margins, proactively identifying risks and recommending corrective actions.
• Analyse resource utilisation and identify profit leakage or cost overrun risks.
• Provide timely visibility of financial risks and support intervention on underperforming projects.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Business Partnering

• Lead the annual services budgeting process and support monthly forecasting activities.
• Partner with Delivery and Services leadership to improve financial performance and decision-making.
• Deliver structured financial reporting, analysis, and insights to support operational and strategic objectives.

• Experience with percentage-of-completion accounting and project revenue recognition under IFRS
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
