About the role

The MEA E-Business & Digital Commerce Lead will be the strategic owner of the MEA E-Business & DComm strategy.

They will lead MEA DComm across sales shopper digital shelf and content as well as driving and coordinating key activities with marketing and media teams to ensure cross functional DComm delivery.

They will be responsible and accountable for the MEA DComm number and cross-BU delivery for both the Omni-Channel Pureplay Quick Commerce and E-B2B. They will own the performance and deliverables within DComm digital marketing as well as ensure strategy alignment for our Media Content Shelf and Insights teams in relation to DComm.

This role has an extensive external remit with a focus on gaining alignment with external stakeholders via regular face to face meetings.

Key responsibilities

  • Create and embed the MEA strategy for E-Business & DComm be the lead market driving the MEA DComm agenda while collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to deliver channel performance & KPIs.

  • Lead the E-Business planning process ensuring end to end multifunctional input and sharing of the MEA plan to the LOCs.

  • Supporting the MEA sales teams on delivering Omnichannel business delivery

  • Drive E-Business culture throughout the organization by interacting with stakeholders to facilitate an understanding of the importance of E-Business.

  • Optimise the E-Business strategy processes ways of working while owning the E-Business annual planning cycle.

  • Plan & coordinate key aspects of digital commerce for key markets with a focus on the biggest retailers in the region like Nahdi Instashop Talabat Migros Checkers and Amazon

  • Extensive external engagement with the major retail partners as well as attending quarterly customer meetings and events.

  • Channel/sub-channel strategies including customer segmentation digital shelf range pricing and shopper activation with relevant functional input.

  • Accountable for MEA P&L and market share

  • Lead & optimise the core commercial cycle for E-Business in coordination with the LOC E-Business leads (sales planning forecasting demand planning)

  • Key interface to marketing brand & media organizations in building brand specific digital commerce plans.

  • Explore & identify new customer / business models to expand the MEA E-business with a specific focus on Omni-Channel E-B2B & Quick commerce.

  • Creation & execution of market digital commerce capability program across MEA leveraging regional support & content where required.

  • Build & support the customer relationship (eJBP planning negotiation terms investment) with regular customer meetings at the Top 5 customers.

  • Support channel specific trade terms discussions.

Qualifications and skills

Essential

  • Over 10 years of MEA relevant industry knowledge for digital channels and an enhanced awareness of the MEA digital commerce landscape

  • Minimum 5 years of Gulf Digital Commerce team leadership experience gained at a top FMCG business

  • Wide ranging knowledge of retailers in both pureplay quick Commerce and omnichannel including commercial methodology and retailer engagement

  • Extensive experience of strategic leadership within a matrix structure.

  • Proven track record of embedding new strategies and processes to optimise DComm performance

  • Demonstratable ability to deliver best in class stakeholder management

  • Extensive and demonstratable negotiation Skills with MEA customers

  • Influencing skills to lead DComm transformation with the ability to influence at all levels

Preferred

  • Digital / E-Commerce specific training from a recognised external body

  • Detailed and extensive experience with Instashop Talabat Nahdi Amazon Carrefour and similar business archetypes
