Job summary

Wales International School in Abu Dhabi, UAE, seeks a motivated Mathematics Teacher to join the Secondary team for Years 7 to 13 under the British National Curriculum. This is a fixed-term contract.

The ideal candidate will hold a Mathematics degree with QTS or equivalent, have strong classroom management, and be able to support diverse learners including EAL students. Proficiency with Google Classroom/Meet is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or closely related field; QTS or equivalent preferred.
  • Recognised teaching qualification.
  • At least one year of teaching experience in a secondary setting.
  • Confident knowledge of the UK curriculum for secondary Mathematics.
  • Experience teaching across a range of secondary year groups is an advantage.
  • Strong classroom management and the ability to support students from diverse linguistic backgrounds, including EAL learners.
  • Proficient in using digital tools to support learning, including Google Classroom and Google Meet.
  • Genuinely passionate about Mathematics and student achievement.
  • Committed to high expectations and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborative and willing to contribute to department and whole-school priorities.
  • Reflective practitioner who engages positively with professional development and quality assurance processes.
  • Respectful of and responsive to the needs of an international, multicultural school community.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Mathematics lessons to Years 7–13 following the UK National Curriculum.
  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality maths lessons and learning activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and provide targeted support as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Mathematics department to meet school priorities.
  • Support EAL learners to access the curriculum and participate in class.
