Role and Responsibilities
The role involves creating forecasting models, assessing risk in investments and ensuring all accounting activities comply with regulations.
- Create and manage material forecasts, taking into consideration production schedules and historical data.
- Resolve any material shortages, production delays, or quality issues in coordination with the production team.
- Liaise with Suppliers to place orders and ensure material availability.
- Plan, execute, and oversee the transportation of goods and materials, both domestically and internationally.
- Work closely with freight forwarders, transporters, and shipping companies to arrange deliveries and manage logistics.
- Track and manage shipping schedules, ensuring timely deliveries and troubleshooting any delays or issues.
- Continuously evaluate logistics processes and procedures, recommending improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.
- Regularly evaluate supplier performance regarding delivery timelines, material quality, and compliance with specifications.
Accountability
- Ensure that the right materials are available at the right time, in the right quantity, and in the right condition to meet production schedules.
- Develop and maintain accurate material forecasts and release purchase orders based on production requirements, sales forecasts, and historical data, and adjust plans as needed.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels by monitoring material stock and ensuring stock-outs are avoided without overstocking.
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials.
- Collaborate with the production and procurement teams to address material shortages and prevent production delays due to material issues.
- Ensure materials meet quality standards and specifications, working with the quality control team to resolve any quality-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and organizational policies related to materials handling and inventory management.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, including freight forwarders, couriers, and carriers, ensuring high service standards and cost efficiency.
- Address and resolve any issues related to logistics operations, such as shipping delays, transportation damage, or documentation discrepancies.
- Track shipments and provide updates to internal teams or customers regarding delivery statuses; manage any issues that may arise during transport.
- Prepare and maintain logistics documentation, including invoices, and customs declarations.
- Work closely with Finance to ensure monthly, Half yearly and full year inventory counts are performing and reporting as per needs.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- At least 3-5 years of experience in material planning, forecasting & Inventory management
- Strong knowledge in UAE logistics and customs procedure
- Strong knowledge of logistics management software and systems.
- Proficient in ERP software (SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
