Job summary

Bombardier Aerospace Abu Dhabi is seeking a Materials Handler to manage daily warehouse operations, receive and inspect parts, and support production with calibrated tools and documentation. You will ensure accurate inventory, proper storage, and timely issuing of items to maintenance teams across the Abu Dhabi site.

The role requires experience in aviation parts and stores, familiarity with SAP ERP, and a proactive approach to safety and compliance.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience managing aviation parts, materials, and stores in an aviation MRO environment.
  • Knowledge of human factors, human performance, and human limitations in daily operations.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office; advanced knowledge of computer systems, processes, and policies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preferred: Dangerous Goods, IATA regulations, Incoterms, material handling/forklift license, OH&S, First Aid.
  • Experience with SAP ERP systems in aviation materials management is advantageous.

What are your contributions to the team?

Material Handler perform daily operation tasks in warehouse on receiving, store inspection, binning, goods issue, stock take, scrap part mutilation and shipping of parts. A material handler also involve tool crib control function in managing of the tooling to support the production and the calibration management of the Test, Measurement, & Diagnostic equipment (TMDE).

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Bombardiers Maintenance Organization Procedures, among which the relevant parts of the MOE, applicable work instructions and especially environmental and safety
  • Determine priority items to ensure timely handling of incoming and outgoing parts, e.g. handling AOG items first
  • Receive and visually inspect all incoming and outgoing materials for physical damage and appropriate documentation, including provisions for properly inspecting electrostatic sensitive components
  • Inspect and identify received tools and equipment and enter tooling in the tooling program
  • Ensure rejected tools and parts (among which suspected unapproved parts) are quarantined and labelled.
  • Accept aircraft components and materials in accordance with SAP
  • Ensure that all material certificates are properly filed and materials are properly stored, and that material is kept linked to the supplier source
  • Issue approved parts, materials, special tooling and ground support equipment to the maintenance department that is accompanied with the appropriate documentation
  • Ensure that outgoing materials are placed on the right customer account
  • Maintain accurate inventory (via cycle counts, perpetual, work-in-progress) using computerized / manual systems to include purchased parts, manufactured parts, materials, tools, etc.
  • Ensure that material is removed from store before expiration
  • Prepare picked items prior to aircraft input and the issuance to the Project Responsible/Certifying Staff upon arrival
  • Monitor special tooling to ensure all issued tooling is within its calibration period
  • Remove special tooling from its location in advance of its calibration date
  • Monitor inventory levels of consumables.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in stores
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Contribute to continuous improvement to the Abu Dhabi Service Centre Operations.
How to thrive in this role?
  • 5 years of experience managing aviation parts, materials, and stores operations within an aviation maintenance or MRO environment.
  • Knowledge of human factors, human performance, and human limitations, with the ability to apply these principles in daily operations.
  • Intermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of computer systems, processes, procedures, and organizational policies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven planning and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Preferred qualifications include Dangerous Goods Certification, familiarity with IATA regulations and Incoterms, a material handling/forklift licence, Human Factors training, Part 145 knowledge, Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) expertise, and a valid First Aid Certificate.
  • Experience with SAP ERP systems, particularly in aviation materials management, would be an advantage.
