Job summary

Transguard Workforce Solutions in the UAE is recruiting a Material Buyer - Engine MRO for our client based in Dubai. The role focuses on sourcing engine parts, tooling, and services to support maintenance schedules and customer commitments.

You will manage purchase orders, expediting critical parts, and ensure supplier compliance while working with planning, quality, and operations teams in a fast-paced aviation environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in purchasing/procurement in industrial, aerospace or MRO.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and standard purchasing processes.
• Ability to read purchase documentation, part numbers, certifications, and supplier communications.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications, especially Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure engine parts, consumables, tooling, and outside services for MRO needs.
• Create, issue, and manage purchase orders in line with supplier and company procedures.
• Monitor open orders and expedite critical material to meet schedules and turnaround targets.
• Coordinate with planning, production, stores and engineering on demand, priorities and shortages.
• Confirm pricing, availability, lead times, certifications, and shipping with suppliers.
• Resolve PO discrepancies, invoice issues, damages, and delivery problems.
• Maintain purchasing records, order status and ERP data accuracy.
• Support compliance with aviation, quality, and traceability requirements.
• Analyze usage trends and supplier performance to improve cost and service levels.
• Participate in inventory control and shortage management to minimize engine work stoppages.

We are currently recruiting for a Material Buyer - Engine MRO for our client to be based out of their Dubai office.

Job Purpose:

The Material Buyer supports engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations by ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and compliant procurement of materials, components, tooling, and services required to maintain production schedules and customer commitments. This role works closely with planning, supply chain, quality, and operations teams to manage purchase orders, expedite critical parts, and support inventory availability for engine shop activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure engine parts, consumables, tooling, and outside services in support of MRO requirements.
• Create, issue, and manage purchase orders in accordance with approved supplier, quality, and company procurement procedures.
• Monitor open orders and proactively expedite critical material to meet maintenance schedules and turnaround time targets.
• Coordinate with planning, production, stores, and engineering teams to understand material demand, priority changes, and shortages.
• Work with suppliers to confirm pricing, availability, lead times, certifications, and shipping commitments.
• Resolve purchase order discrepancies, invoice issues, damaged shipments, and supplier delivery problems.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, order status updates, and system data within the ERP or procurement platform.
• Support compliance with aviation, quality, and customer requirements related to traceability, documentation, and approved sources.
• Analyze usage trends and supplier performance to help improve cost, availability, and service levels.
• Participate in inventory control and shortage management activities to minimize aircraft engine work stoppages.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, aviation, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or materials coordination in an industrial, aerospace, or MRO environment.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and standard purchasing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret purchase documentation, part numbers, certifications, and supplier communications.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in aviation or engine MRO purchasing.
• Knowledge of FAA, EASA, or other regulatory documentation and traceability requirements.
• Familiarity with approved supplier management and aerospace quality standards.
• Experience expediting critical parts and working with repair vendors or outside service providers.
• Understanding of inventory planning, stocking strategies, and material shortage management.
