Job summary

Emirates Airlines is seeking a Materials Planning Supervisor in Dubai to support planning, provisioning and replenishment of aircraft spares, including rotables, BFE, IFE, consumables and tools. You will help maintain optimal inventory levels, ensure data accuracy, and support AOG situations across Dubai and outstations.

The role requires experience in airline/ MRO materials and ERP systems, with strong English communication and analytic skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in float/Initial Provisioning/Replenishment by analysing recommendations and surplus data; prepare data for EOQ calculations and report discrepancies.
  • Review non-moving and slow-moving items per Surplus Review Plans and identify surplus stock to optimize inventory.
  • Monitor critical nil stock and shortages, coordinate with maintenance, repair, and procurement for support and escalation as needed.
  • Assist in defining part numbers and ERP relationships from manuals and approvals.
  • Carry out stocktaking of EK Inventory at DXB and Outstation stores and maintain data accuracy.
  • Assist in reviews of Gross Stock Value, service levels, and inventory parameters to maintain accuracy.

Job description

Job Purpose

The Material Management Department, is dedicated to addressing complex aviation material needs with precision. Organized into specialized units: Cabin, IFE, Airframe, Engines, Inventory Control, and Operations Support, along with dedicated teams for Rotable Components and Outstation support, we ensure timely availability of spares and components across the network.

Our core responsibilities include managing re-order levels, forecasting needs, inventory management and coordinating with Procurement for prompt deliveries based on our quality and safety standards. Providing 24/7 support for critical / AOG requirements and facilitating outstation operations through pooling and borrowing, our team is committed to operational excellence and cost-effectiveness.

As a Materials Planning Supervisor you will support in the planning, initial provisioning and Replenishment of aircraft spares including Rotables, Buyer Furnish Equipment (BFE), Inflight Entertainment (IFE), Consumables, tools and Commercial items in order to meet all Entry into Service (EIS), operational and maintenance demands at Line and Base Maintenance. You will also assist in inventory reviews to ensure optimum inventory levels and data accuracy.

In this role you will:
  • Assist Materials Planning Officer to prepare float/Initial Provisioning/Replenishment by analysing manufacturer recommendations and surplus review data. Compile accurate data for calculation of float/Economical Ordering Quantity and detect/report discrepancies.
  • Carry out review of non-moving and slow-moving items as per Surplus Review Plans and identify surplus stock items to reduce and optimize the inventory.
  • Monitor and highlight critical nil stock and Aircraft Maintenance Programme item shortages as per the schedule. Review daily unfulfilled demands, Nil Stock reports, Planning Triggers and coordinate with component repairs/Procurement team for support. Monitor and address open Due-in issues and liaise with Repair Process, Warehouse and maintenance in resolving outstanding Due-in cases and recommend for escalation where required.
  • Assist in defining part numbers and setup relationships in the ERP system after collecting the required data from technical manuals other technical documentation/approvals.
Rotable Planning, Inventory Control, Outstations & Operations Support
  • Review all Heavy Maintenance and Line Support work package demands prior to aircraft induction and ensure all spares & equipment is made available prior to the start of check. Review material shortage reports and action all open requirements for scheduled and unscheduled tasks. Liaise with the workshops for in-house repair or fabrication of required items/materials.
  • Support the Material Planning Officer in ensuring all material and tooling requirements for Aircraft On Ground (AOG) in Dubai and Outstations are immediately actioned. Take immediate and appropriate actions on all AOG, flight protection and rush tag requests from maintenance by preparing required documentation and transporting material in the quickest time frame. Action third party loan and sale requests from other operators by reviewing and processing requests after due diligence.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure that required material is available in stock for support of outstations. Arrange spares and tools required to be positioned at outstations by liaising with the warehouse and Despatch teams.
  • Assist the Material Planning Officer by expediting all open orders, coordinating with suppliers and logistics providers to ensure timely shipment and receipt of items/material as per requirement.
  • Carry out stocktaking of EK Inventory at DXB and Outstation stores, to achieve the desired level of accuracy of inventory against physical stock levels.
  • Assist Material Planning Controller and Officer to carry out regular reviews of Gross Stock Value, Service Levels, Inventory Float & Quantities, Usage and other Planning Parameters of Inventory Control Module in ERP system, in order to maintain data accuracy.
Material Planning Airframe, Engine, Cabin & IFE
  • Assist periodic audits of inventory parameters including Re-order point, Order Quantity, Lead Time, Average Monthly Usage (AMU) and recommend areas to improve metrics.
  • Assist in meeting objectives of supply chain metrics including measurement and control of AOG, Robberies, Shortages, SLAs, Surplus, Deferred Defects, Cycle Time, Backlogs and other KPIs. Escalate critical shortages, service failures and identify corrective actions to maintain performance, productivity and delivery at the agreed level.
  • Assist in reviews of slow, non-moving and higher month of coverage (MOC) repairable and expendable items of assigned vendors/commodities in order to establish contractual buyback items and seek approval for surplus stock declarations.
  • Assist in Maintaining compliance with Material Planning procedures, methods and parameters applicable for different types/categories of aircraft parts to maintain cost effective stock levels.
Qualification
To be considered for the role you must meet the below requirements:
  • 10 years schooling or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Engineering Materials & Stores. Candidates with min 1.5 years of experience may be considered.
  • Experience in Airline/MRO Engineering Materials & Stores or minimum 5 years of experience in Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience in an airline or third-party maintenance environment.
  • Industry knowledge in various supply chain management is preferable (Warehouse and Logistics, Repairs Management, Material Planning/Support, Inventory Control & Technical Purchasing).
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge of aircraft components and associated systems, and a sound experience of the ERP (Inventory Management) System.
  • Ability to analyse reports and report findings.
