A leading hotel chain in Dubai is seeking a maintenance technician to respond to guest repair requests and perform preventive maintenance on facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong general maintenance skills and a high school diploma. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently. Opportunities for training and development are available.
Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Carry equipment such as tools and radios. Identify, locate, and operate all shutoff valves for equipment and utility shutoffs for buildings. Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed. Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved communication programs and standards. Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance. Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, light bulb and A/C filter replacements, and cleanup of work areas. Test, troubleshoot, and repair various equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and guestroom items. Program TVs and manage inventory related to housekeeping and engineering. Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before maintenance. Repair landscaping and sprinklers. Display basic computer skills for scheduling and temperature adjustments.
Follow all safety, security, and company policies; report maintenance problems, hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and store flammable materials properly. Maintain a professional appearance, confidentiality, and protect company assets. Greet guests according to standards, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests sincerely. Adhere to quality standards. Develop positive relationships with team members, support team goals, and respond to colleagues' concerns. Communicate clearly and professionally. Lift objects up to 50 pounds independently and heavier objects with assistance. Navigate stairs, ramps, and ladders; reach overhead and below knees, including bending and twisting. Use computers to access work-related information. Perform other reasonable duties as requested.
