POSITION SUMMARY
Respond to guest repair requests and attend to maintenance issues. Communicate with guests and customers to resolve problems. Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Carry equipment such as tools and radios. Identify, locate, and operate all shutoff valves for equipment and utility shutoffs for buildings. Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed. Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved communication programs and standards. Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in areas such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance. Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, light bulb and A/C filter replacements, and thorough cleanup of work areas. Test, troubleshoot, and repair all types of equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and guestroom items. Program TVs and perform inventory duties related to housekeeping and engineering. Use the Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance. Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinklers. Demonstrate basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules and adjusting temperatures.
Follow all company, safety, and security policies and procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and properly store flammable materials. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Greet and acknowledge guests according to company standards, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests sincerely. Adhere to quality standards. Develop positive relationships with colleagues, support team efforts, and respond appropriately to concerns. Communicate clearly and professionally. Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently and heavier objects with assistance. Navigate stairs, ramps, and ladders; reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Use computers to locate work-related information. Perform other reasonable duties as requested.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D.
Experience: Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting; hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
Supervisory Experience: None required.
