Position - Mason

Job Summary:

The Mason is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to bricklaying, plastering, tiling, concrete works, and other civil maintenance jobs. The role ensures the upkeep, repair, and construction of facility structures, surfaces, and infrastructure in accordance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform bricklaying, blockwork, plastering, tiling, and other masonry tasks
• Carry out minor construction, repair, and finishing works within the facility (walls, floors, partitions, etc.)
• Repair and maintain concrete structures, tiles, pavements, and masonry surfaces
• Mix and prepare mortar, cement, and other construction materials
• Assist in the maintenance of external landscaping structures like curbs, pathways, and boundaries
• Patch up cracks, holes, and surface damage using appropriate materials
• Ensure all work is done safely, neatly, and according to the required specifications
• Maintain tools and materials, and keep the work area clean and organized
• Coordinate with other maintenance teams (plumbing, electrical, etc.) for joint tasks
• Follow work orders and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Report damages, material requirements, or safety issues to supervisors

Requirements:

• ITI, Diploma, or equivalent experience in masonry/civil works
• 2-5 years of experience in masonry or civil maintenance, preferably in facility management
• Skilled in bricklaying, plastering, tiling, concrete work, and finishing
• Familiar with the use of hand and power tools related to masonry work
• Ability to interpret basic drawings and measurements
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labor, lift heavy materials, and work outdoors

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in commercial, residential, or industrial facilities
• Basic knowledge of safety practices related to construction and maintenance
• Multi-skilled (basic painting or carpentry skills) is a plus
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
