Qualifications

Job description

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepares and mixes materials for the work according to specifications such as mortar, paste, cement, and slacking lime.
• Plans work from blueprints or specifications, estimates, and lays out jobs and materials.
• Documents all work performed and any materials used.
• Determines method and sequence of work operations, quality and size of raw stock, and hardware necessary to complete the assignment.
• Performs minor repairs to civil structures, including painting, tiling, and gypsum work.
• Repairs or replaces concrete, terrazzo, quarry tile, wall tile, ceramic floor, and specialty floors.
• Assists in erecting barricades and placing warning signals around work sites.
• Operates sandblasting equipment to smooth or prepare metal, masonry, or similar surfaces.
• All duties and responsibilities of the Mason classification.
• Mixes mortar.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar capacity.
