Job Description

Who We Are: At VML, we are a beacon of innovation and growth in an ever-evolving world. Our heritage is built upon a century of combined expertise, where creativity meets technology, and diverse perspectives ignite inspiration. With the merger of VMLY&R and Wunderman Thompson, we have forged a new path as a growth partner that is part creative agency, part consultancy, and part technology powerhouse.

Our global family now encompasses over 30,000 employees across 150+ offices in 64 markets, each contributing to a culture that values connection, belonging, and the power of differences.

Our expertise spans the entire customer journey, offering deep insights in communications, commerce, consultancy, CRM, CX, data, production, and technology. We deliver end-to-end solutions that result in revolutionary work.

Role Overview

We are seeking a commercially minded Marketing Performance & Insights Manager who excels at turning data into actionable insights and driving marketing strategy through evidence-based storytelling. This role will serve as the central authority on marketing performance within our team, consolidating data across channels and delivering clear, impactful recommendations to optimize campaigns and improve ROI.

The ideal candidate is not just an analyst but a strategist—someone who can interpret complex datasets, uncover trends, and craft compelling narratives that influence decision-making at all levels of the organization. You will collaborate closely with internal teams (Media, Website, Product Marketing) and external partners to ensure our marketing efforts are aligned with business objectives and focused on measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Insight Development & Storytelling: Analyze and interpret marketing performance data from multiple sources (media, CRM, website, product campaigns, etc.) to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Develop clear, concise, and visually engaging reports and presentations that tell the story behind the numbers. Translate raw data into actionable insights that inform marketing strategies and campaign optimizations.
  • Strategic Recommendations: Provide evidence-based recommendations to improve customer acquisition, engagement, and retention. Partner with marketing teams to develop optimization plans for campaigns, channels, and customer journeys. Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, presenting insights that drive strategic decisions and resource allocation.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (Consumer Banking Data & Analytics, Paid Media, Website, Martech, CRM) to align on KPIs, reporting frameworks, and performance goals. Collaborate with creative and content teams to ensure messaging resonates with target audiences based on insights.
  • Governance & Accountability: Establish and enforce consistency in KPIs, measurement frameworks, and definitions of success across all marketing activities. Challenge assumptions and gut-feel conclusions with data-driven evidence. Ensure focus remains on meaningful metrics that reflect business impact, not vanity metrics.
  • Reporting & Communication: Build dashboards, scorecards, and ad hoc reports tailored to different stakeholder needs. Lead post-campaign evaluations, quarterly reviews, and performance discussions with senior stakeholders. Communicate findings in a way that inspires action and drives continuous improvement.
Key Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing analytics, insights, or strategy roles.
  • Strong ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent storytelling skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives supported by data.
  • Proficient in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and analytics platforms (e.g., GA4, Adobe Analytics).
  • Solid understanding of marketing KPIs across digital channels, CRM, media, and web.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and balancing multiple priorities.
What Success Looks Like
  • Leadership trusts your insights and recommendations to guide strategic decisions.
  • Campaigns and initiatives are optimized based on evidence, leading to measurable improvements in performance.
  • Teams across the organization align on a shared understanding of marketing performance.
  • The focus shifts from activity metrics to business impact and outcomes.

We believe the best work happens when we're together, fostering creativity, collaboration, and connection. That's why we've adopted a hybrid approach, with teams in the office an average of four days a week. If you require accommodations or flexibility, please discuss this with the hiring team during the interview process.
