Job DescriptionCounterpoint is a fast-growing global industry analysis firm, and has built its reputation as a trusted adviser to blue-chip clients in the tech industry. We are looking for Research Analysts to join our regional coverage practice to take on an expanding portfolio of research.Our smartphone research team is the largest in the industry and supports smartphone and consumer electronics brands, component players, mobile operators, other value chain participants as well as financial institutions.The main focus of this role is to track the Middle East & North Africa(MENA) market for smartphones, other consumer tech products (such as smartwatches and TWS), and ecosystems, from a trade and consumer perspective. You will maintain our proprietary tracking databases, as well as take on a combination of responsibilities including delivery of research, growing and managing research contacts across the supply chain, and assisting in custom engagements and projects.Successful candidates will enjoy working independently, coming up with new ideas to serve clients, while being part of a close-knit international team.ResponsibilityResearching, analyzing and tracking relevant data and information to be maintained within our proprietary databases.Developing an understanding of key drivers and inhibitors in the mobile devices and ecosystems space, and how these affect overall industry trends.Participating in interactions with vendors, distributors and retailers, to support and expand our research methodologies, articulate our views, and gauge clients evolving needs.Developing compelling research and expressing your industry viewpoints to support a rich body of qualitative and quantitative research insights - including custom research projects, client requests, researchblogs, reports and whitepapers - by working with various internal teams.Minimum RequirementsUniversity graduate, advanced degree/certificate will be a plus.3+ years of relevant work experience in technology, telecoms, internet, media or finance sectors.Relevant on-the-ground work experience in Middle East or Africa markets.Self-motivated with keen interest analyzing technology, telecoms and internet sectors.Excellent command of both written and spoken English. Relevant additional language proficiency (such as Arabic or French) will be a plus.Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.Must possess valid residency status for your desired work location as required by local employment laws. Proof of residency may be required prior to employment.Preferred RequirementsPossess an analytical mind and think critically.Good at interpreting business trends and articulating your views in an engaging way.Strong interpersonal skills, capable of expanding client network.Understand the business and cultural norms of Middle East or Africa markets.Comfortable with writing blogs and reports for different business purposes.Ability to work both independently and as a team player in a multicultural and entrepreneurial environment.LocationFlexible in MENA (Middle East and North Africa).
