Job description – Market Manager, Middle East & Africa (Based in Dubai)

Market Manager, Middle East & Africa

Purpose of the job

The job is to develop interest and buying potential for MillerKnoll brands in a given geographical area and to develop, involve and co-ordinate MillerKnoll and Dealer resources against opportunities in specific markets within the Middle East & Africa region. The increased awareness developed through the position increases the number of sales opportunities and the subsequent sales. To take a lead role in major project opportunities to close business against specific sales and margin targets.

Specific responsibilities

1. Promote the company’s products and services, obtain orders on behalf of the company.
2. Gain an understanding of the business community locally and begin to identify both opportunities in regional, national and local sectors.
3. Win business against a sales and margin target for all MillerKnoll products within the identified sectors.
4. Gain support in seminar activity locally.
5. Involve specialist sales resources where relevant against specific opportunities.
6. Provide accurate forecasting information for total volume sales by product group and detailed information on specific large projects.
7. Maintain good working relationships with local dealer personnel maintaining competence and commitment products within the MillerKnoll collective.
8. Provide field training for dealer sales personnel in product and positional skills.
9. Involve other groups as appropriate such as the Global Enterprise Management team, A&D or Channel Development.
10. Identify appropriate new dealers and develop these opportunities alongside internal Channel Development teams.
11. Participate in induction training for new personnel and new product training.
12. Canvas business opportunities in person. Identify, qualify and develop.
13. Support and manage additional markets within the Middle East & Africa if required.

Location and Reporting

Part of the Dubai based MEA team. Reports to Regional Director MEA. The Market Manager is to justify and compete for marketing resources where required.

Education and experience

1. Business Degree or equivalent.
2. Successful sales experience of 3 years.
3. Experience of working for a multinational organisation.
4. Knowledgeable in forecasting and planning.
5. English, spoken and written essential.
6. Experience of working in the Middle East / North Africa.
7. Experience of furniture or interiors industry.
8. Arabic, spoken and written preferred.

Competences

1. Good communicator both verbally and in written form.
2. Well organised with good time management skills.
3. Must enjoy teamwork, but also be self-motivated and able to work alone and be self-sufficient.
4. Must be flexible to work long hours when required and undertake travel throughout the region.
5. Must be highly literate in the use of IT systems.
6. Must be numerate in the preparation of quotations and forecast information.
7. Must be culturally aware, and have travelled extensively.
8. Quick learner.
9. Able to show initiative and creativity.
