What You’ll Be Doing:

Consumer Protection Framework Implementation:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain our bank’s consumer protection strategy, policies, and procedures.
  • Align our operations with CBUAE Consumer Protection standards, international best practices, and relevant consumer laws.
  • Lead efforts to enhance transparency, fairness, and accountability in all consumer-facing processes.

Market Conduct Oversight:
  • Monitor market conduct practices to ensure compliance with laws and regulations regarding fair treatment of consumers.
  • Ensure marketing, sales, and product strategies align with consumer protection principles, avoiding any misleading practices.
  • Be the point of contact with regulatory bodies on consumer protection and market conduct issues.

Compliance Monitoring and Control:
  • Oversee internal controls to mitigate risks related to consumer protection and market conduct.
  • Regularly assess consumer protection practices across all bank products and services.
  • Investigate and resolve consumer complaints in line with regulatory standards.

Training & Awareness:
  • Develop and deliver training programs on consumer protection standards and compliance to enhance team knowledge.
  • Raise awareness across departments on the importance of consumer protection and market conduct.

Reporting & Assessment:
  • Assess and report on consumer protection and market conduct performance, providing actionable feedback to senior management.
  • Prepare internal and external reports on the bank’s consumer protection efforts and regulatory adherence.

Collaboration & Advisory:
  • Collaborate with other teams (Legal, Risk, Operations) to ensure smooth implementation of strategies.
  • Provide guidance and advice to business units to meet consumer protection requirements and market conduct standards.

Regulatory & Industry Knowledge:
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes, industry trends, and best practices in consumer protection.
  • Adjust bank policies and procedures based on regulatory updates and insights.

Skills:
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering training programs.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • A proactive and detail-oriented approach to risk management.
