The Market Access Lead is responsible for the developing and initiating market access and pricing strategies for PTC across the Region. Reporting into the Head of Region, the incumbent will work closely with colleagues across different geographies and also ensure appropriate alignment with PTC s global pricing and market access strategies.

The role is important in identifying and operationalizing optimal pricing, reimbursement and commercial models for PTC s current and future product portfolio in the context of the wider health economy and reimbursement systems at a national and sub-national/payor level.

The role also plays an important part in external and governmental affairs in the Region. This includes working with external authorities and also collaborating appropriately on patient engagement initiatives. Job Description:

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Leads projects and facilitates cross-functional market access strategy for the Region.
  • Is accountable for preparing HTA dossiers (economic and clinical/reimbursement), manages price modification requests and ensure implementation of pricing policies.
  • Leads negotiations and/or assists relevant colleagues in price and reimbursement negotiations with health authorities.
  • Manages relations with governmental authorities including relevant health authorities, key opinion leaders, and patient and industry associations.
  • Ensures that evidence requirements of payers and other market access stakeholders is communicated internally / incorporated into clinical development plans and other evidence generation plans. Works closely with other relevant functions (e.g. HEOR, Global Marketing, global Market Access colleagues) to achieve this.
  • Ensures an effective working relationship to effectively identify and build collaborative solutions for unmet payer needs and share knowledge.
  • Represents PTC Therapeutics in National/Regional pricing and reimbursement and rare
  • diseases/orphan drugs/gene therapies industry forums and working groups as appropriate. Collaborates with other functions to achieve PTC representation effectively e.g. Government Affairs, Patient Advocacy, Global Market Access.
  • Manages external vendors in an efficient, cost-effective manner.
  • Performs other tasks and assignments as needed and specified by management.

Requirements for the role include:

  • Higher education, preferably in Life Sciences and/or Health Economics. Further qualifications and courses in Market Access and Pricing are an advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive, relevant market access and/or health economics experience in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology company or consulting firm.
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical market with exposure to multiple therapy areas and preferably orphan drug products.
  • Significant operational experience of market access in the Region.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Fluency in other languages, especially from the Region welcomed.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team environment..
  • Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects.
  • Understanding of rare or orphan disorders research and related market access approaches.
