Job summary
Black & Grey HR seeks a Port Engineer (Technical Superintendent) – Electronics & Systems for our client’s marine operations in Abu Dhabi. You will own navigation, communication, automation, and electronic control systems across a mixed fleet and USVs, ensuring certification currency and cyber readiness.
You will work with the Marine Manager, Project teams, OEMs, and Class/Flag authorities to deliver safe, compliant, and on-time upgrades, manage complex faults, and supervise technicians at sea
Qualifications
- 7–10 years of marine electronics experience.
- Experience with GMDSS, ECDIS, radar and automation.
- Strong knowledge of navigation, communication, and automation systems.
- Familiarity with DP systems and/or DP/USV control is advantageous.
- Knowledge of PMS/CMMS, firmware, and configuration management.
Responsibilities
- Maintain certification and operability of navigation, communication, and automation systems.
- Diagnose faults, manage spares, firmware, and version control to meet targets.
- Plan and lead upgrades/retrofits like ECDIS, DP/USV control.
- Support USV deployments and ensure cyber readiness and compliance.
- Interface with managers, OEMs, and authorities for readiness and surveys.
- Document configurations and drawings; ensure accuracy and traceability.
