Job summary

ZMI Holdings, based in Abu Dhabi, seeks a Marine Superintendent to oversee ship management for its fleet, covering safety, environment, and regulatory compliance. You will lead a multi-disciplinary Integrated Operating Team (IOT) to maximize fleet utilization while adhering to budget targets and company policies.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and extensive experience with offshore vessels, plus DP certification and a Master Mariner COC.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience in maritime fleet management.
• Unlimited Master Mariner Certificate of Competency (COC) is required.
• Dynamic Positioning Certificate by Nautical Institute is required.
• Experience with Offshore Support Vessels (AHTS, DSV, Supply Vessels).
• ADNOC Approval as Port Captain/Marine Superintendent is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Marine or related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Integrated Operating Team (IOT) to optimize fleet performance within budget and regulatory standards.
• Oversee ship management for assigned vessels including safety, environment, technical, procurement, crewing, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure maintenance activities: planned maintenance, dry docking, mobilization/demobilization, and vessel stacking."
• Establish and maintain client relationships to support business objectives.
• Ensure IOT compliance with HSE, risk management, ESG, procurement, crewing, and finance policies.
• Ambit of monitoring IOT performance and onboarding/offboarding members as needed.
• Oversee budget management and adoption of AMOS system across vessels.
• Coordinate with Fleet Manager for recruitment and training of IOT personnel.
• Supervise deployment of skilled deck officers, engineers, and ratings for vessel operations.

Key responsibilities:

As our Marine Superintendent at ZMI, your main responsibility is to oversee ship management for assigned vessels, including spanning safety & environment, financial, marine & technical, procurement, crewing, and regulatory compliance. Leading a multi-disciplinary fleet management cell (IOT) is integral to their role.

• Lead individual Integrated Operating Team (IOT) to optimize IOT performance and maximize assigned fleet utilization within budget targets, ensuring compliance with safety and local regulations.
• Keep responsibility for vessel and all kinds of status and activities pertaining to operations, such as planned maintenance, dry docking, mobilization/demobilization, modifications, and warm stack/cold stack.
• Establish and maintain client relationships to ensure satisfaction and support business objectives.
• Manage a multi-disciplinary Integrated Operating Team (IOT) covering operations, marine services, technical services, safety, procurement, crewing, admin, finance, and commercial contracts.
• Monitor IOT performance and maintain high operational standards, through possessing an authority to onboard or offboard IOT members when necessary.
• Develop and uphold competency standards for IOT members.
• Support in defining the recruitment requirements and training of IOT personnel, in coordination with the Fleet Manager.
• Ensure that IOT complies with the regulations of the organization, such as any HSE, risk management, ESG, procurement, crewing, finance, or any other company regulation or policy.
• Oversee HSE management protocols within their IOT, ensuring compliance and implementation.
• Work with the Marine Manager to ensure that skilled deck officers, engineers, and ratings are deployed to operate company assets proficiently.
• Oversee budget management to ensure financial control and accountability.
• Ensure the adoption and utilization of the AMOS system across capable vessels.
• Maintain direct communication with the Master on vessel activities, involving IOT and team members in decision-making, with Operations Superintendent's authorization for subordinates to act/decide independently.

Minimum requirements and qualifications:

• Five years’ experience in the maritime, or similar industry, in a fleet management position.
• Unlimited Master Mariner Certificate of Competency (COC)
• Dynamic Positioning Certificate by Nautical Institute
• Solid experience handling Offshore Support Vessels (AHTS, DSV, Supply Vessels)
• ADNOC Approval as Port Captain/Marine Superintendent is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Marine, or other related field
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
