Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking an experienced Master Mariner to oversee day-to-day vessel operations, safety, and regulatory compliance. You will liaise between ships and the organization, coordinate inspections, and support shoreside marine management for VLCC operations.

Responsibilities include inspections, port agency coordination, security, load/discharge support, and incident investigations. A strong background in VLCC operations and maritime safety is essential.

Qualifications

• Master Mariner certificate of competency.
• 3-7 years of sailing experience as Master on board a ship, on VLCC vessels.
• At least 2 years of shore job experience as a marine superintendent managing VLCC vessels.

Responsibilities

• Monitor day-to-day vessel operations; liaise between ships and the organization; ensure safety, certifications and regulator compliance.
• Inspect and coordinate SIRE/CDI inspections, pre-vetting visits and audits to identify risks.
• Participate in port agency appointments and ensure timely disbursements and invoicing for husbandry matters.
• Monitor vessel security, transit in high-risk areas, and liaise with service providers for incident response.
• Support load/discharge operations in coordination with commercial operators.
• Provide support on operations, safety and emergencies; investigate navigational and operational incidents.

KeyAccountability:

Inspections

Monitor,arrangeandrespondtoSIRE/CDIinspectionsasrequiredbyowner’scommercialdepartmentoranyflaginspectionsinordertoensurecompliancewithrequiredrulesandregulations.Visitvesselstoassistwiththepre-vettinginspectionsandcarryoutanyotherauditsasrequiredbythemanagementinordertoidentifyanypotentialrisksinadvance.

PortAgencies

Participateintheappointmentofagenciesandfollow-upwiththeminordertoensuretimelydisbursementsandinvoicingforowner’shusbandrymatters.

Security

Monitorships/vesselstransitinhighriskareas.Overseetestingofalertsandliaisewithserviceprovidersfortroubleshooting.

VesselLoadDischarge

Monitorandsupportvessel'sload/dischargingoperationsincoordinationwithcommercialoperators.
