Our Middle East operation is currently seeking a Marine Scientist to join our UAE team and advance their career. Candidates should have at least a bachelor’s degree in marine science, marine biology, marine ecology, or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role is required.

As a Marine Scientist, you will study the marine environment, and your insights will support our teams in preparing reports based on survey outcomes.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in marine science or related field
• Practical marine experience, including working on vessels and underwater
• Comfortable working offshore, both on and off rotation
• Experience in report writing for baseline surveys or EIAs
• Own vehicle and UAE driver’s license or actively pursuing one
• Commercial or recreational diving certification
• Experience with sample collection, storage, and field equipment
• Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages like Arabic are a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills: verbal, non-verbal, and written
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and energetic
• Ability to work in a team and report to senior staff
• Problem-solving skills and capacity to work independently
• Knowledge of Arabian Gulf habitats and species

The responsibilities include:

• Conducting marine surveys as part of a team, reporting to the Field Team Leader and Project Manager
• Performing tasks following established methodologies
• Supporting technical work and broader assignments
• Assisting senior professionals with technical tasks
• Inspecting and improving equipment
• Collecting samples with proper procedures
• Testing marine water quality in situ
• Observing marine mammals and reptiles during surveys
• Data collection and reporting
• Participating in SCUBA dive surveys
• Travel within the GCC region as needed
