A global leader in marine solutions is seeking a Marine HR Crewing Specialist in Dubai to manage the recruitment and scheduling of Licensed Marine personnel. Job Overview:
The main duties of a Marine HR Crewing Specialist include recruitment, selection, and hiring of Licensed Marine personnel; managing crew schedules and rotations; Logistics, facilitating training and development programs; ensuring compliance with regulations and documentation requirements; addressing crew welfare needs; serving as a communication link between crew and management. Recruit Marine Licensed crew based on the ship's minimum safe manning provided by the government regulators. Manage deployments of marine licensed crew to the fleet. Plan crew training and develop and revalidation of certain seafarers' qualifications, such as SOLAS and STCW95 requirements.
This includes a bachelor's degree or diploma in maritime studies, human resources, business administration, or a related field, as well as a certification or license in crewing management, maritime law, or a related field.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Recruit Licensed Marine crew based on the ship's minimum safe manning provided by the government regulators
Manage deployments of marine crew to the fleet. Plan crew training and develop and revalidation of certain seafarers' qualifications, such as SOLAS and STCW95 requirements
Work within defined parameters aabd can make decisions, apply concepts to administrative issues of medium to high complexity
Responsible for managing the full life cycle of specific HR processes
Maintain physical or digital employee files
Prepare and submit tickets to the Global People Services Team for updating of HR system data, including employee personal data, salary changes and promotions, employment details, etc.
Review and approve employee payroll claims; prepare and submit tickets to the Global People Services Team for HR and payroll system updates
Act as the point of contact for employees on general, payroll, and timesheet queries and resolve issues through immediate action
Generate documents such as offer letters, verification of employment, salary, and promotion letters
Coordinate onboarding and off-boarding processes, which includes conducting orientation sessions, exit interviews, benefit enrollments and exits, and system updates
Support various HR processes by coordination, and in some cases conducting, of meetings, tracking, and reporting on progress and management of data
Prepare reports and complex HR metrics
Support general HR initiatives
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in maritime studies, human resources, business administration, or a related field, as well as a certification or license in crewing management, maritime law, or a related field High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of four to six (4 to 6) years administrative experience, with at least three (3) years in an Marine Licensed crewing role
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to build good relationships
Capability to apply discretion and maintain high levels of confidentiality
Strong sense of urgency and problem-solving skills
Ability to juggle multiple tasks with superb accuracy
Proficient in HR Systems, e.g., SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Alfresco, etc.
Proficient in Microsoft Office - PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook
