Job summary

SKM Air Conditioning LLC in Sharjah seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Leader with a focus on HVAC production. You will supervise operations, drive Lean initiatives, and coordinate with multiple departments to optimize workflows.

The role requires a degree in engineering, 10+ years in HVAC manufacturing, and strong leadership, planning, and communication skills. Experience with CAD tools and MS Office is preferred, with English fluency.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Production/Mechanical/Industrial) or equivalent experience in manufacturing engineering.
• Knowledgeable in practical applications of engineering principles to design and production of goods.
• Strong machines/tools knowledge including design, repair, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Assigns jobs, sets priorities, and oversees daily workflow of the department.
• Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
• Provides performance evaluations and handles disciplinary actions.
• Analyzes current manufacturing operations to locate inefficiencies.
• Collaborates with other department managers to set and assess priorities across teams.
• Implements cost-reduction and efficiency improvements in processes.
• Oversees tooling operations to ensure quality and safety standards.
• Leads Lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, Kaizen, Kanban, VSM).
• Prepares departmental budget and provides technical support for plant operations.

Duties, Responsibilities & Authorities

• Assigns jobs & set priorities; oversees the daily workflow of the department.
• Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
• Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
• Analyses the current manufacturing operations to locate inefficiencies
• Collaborates with other department managers and leadership to set and assess priorities across teams.
• Assesses cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes; makes and implements recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Supervises tooling operations, ensuring all work is performed accurately and according to quality and safety standards.
• Provides guidance and oversight in development and execution of plant renovations and expansions; coordinates outside contractors and vendors.
• Leads the implementation of the best Lean manufacturing practices which includes 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, and Value-stream Mapping (VSM).
• Improves the manufacturing routing time of various HVAC product models to ensure that all are in its optimum manufacturing process time.
• Approves the purchase, installation, and commissioning of new equipment associated with assigned area of the manufacturing plant
• Approves Machine Tools & Parts design / drawings; Improvement in design / drawings; Procedures for Tooling Design.
• Provides technical support for specific plant operations
• Prepares and implements the departmental budget.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Degree in Engineering (Production/Mechanical/Industrial) or equivalent experience in manufacturing engineering field, required. Knowledge
• Knowledgeable in practical applications of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
• Knowledgeable in machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 10-years’ experience in HVAC manufacturing or related industry.
• Thorough understanding of plant engineering, industrial engineering, and tooling.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
