A leading company in the UAE is hiring a Lead Managing Quantity Surveyor to oversee professional cost consultancy for a large-scale residential project in Dubai. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of cost management principles, overseeing project budgets and ensuring effective stakeholder communication while mentoring junior staff.
We are seeking a talented and commercially astute Lead Managing Quantity Surveyor to support the leadership and growth of our UAE Cost Management team.
You will play a pivotal role in the delivery of professional cost consultancy services for a high-profile large-scale residential project in Dubai on behalf of a leading regional developer. The role calls for strong leadership adaptability and sound commercial judgement particularly within a fast-paced delivery environment and across multiple workstreams.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a site-based team of Quantity Surveyors ensuring consistent performance across multiple project packages and phases.
Take ownership of all cost control measurement and valuation activities maintaining high standards of accuracy and timeliness.
Act as the primary commercial point of contact with the client project consultants and contractors ensuring clear alignment on budgets contract terms and change processes.
Review and approve payment applications variations and claims ensuring compliance with contract provisions and programme timelines.
Prepare and present monthly cost reports cash flow forecasts and commercial dashboards to both client and internal leadership.
Oversee procurement strategies tender analysis and contract administration in line with best practice and project-specific objectives.
Lead on change management assessing cost implications and advising the client on risk exposure and mitigation strategies.
Provide strong visible leadership to the cost management team ensuring junior staff are mentored supported and developed.
Champion the consistent application of industry best practices tools and systems across all commercial functions.
Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions without compromising on project quality and delivery.
Manage complex stakeholder expectations navigating competing priorities while maintaining programme and commercial targets.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local construction legislation market rates and industry benchmarks.
Support broader client relationship management and business development efforts through high-quality service delivery and communication.
