A leading company is seeking a Head of Startup Business Development to shape the startup ecosystem in the Middle East, North Africa & Sub-Saharan Africa. The ideal candidate will lead a team to drive AWS market penetration, build strategic relationships with key stakeholders, and have a strong blend of business acumen and technical background. Has established relationships with well-respected venture capital firms they have collaborated with in the past.
Experience as either a founder who successfully raised funding from a prominent venture capital firm, an operator at a top venture-backed startup, or an employee at a larger established company.
Strong experience hiring and leading large teams.
Experience with cloud technologies, including AI

As the Head of Startup Business Development - Middle East, North Africa & Sub-Saharan Africa within AWS, you will shape and impact the startup ecosystem in this region. Your responsibilities include managing a team of business development managers to drive AWS adoption and market penetration, and building strategic relationships with investors, accelerators, and incubators.
The ideal candidate will have a strong business background capable of engaging with CxO/VP-level startup executives, and a technical background to interact with CTOs and developers. They should be strategic, analytical, able to convey value propositions, and passionate about emerging technologies.
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services focus on driving revenue, adoption, and growth across various customer segments, including public sector and mission-critical applications on AWS.

You will lead a team of business development managers, supporting their growth and nurturing startup relationships. You will leverage insights from your team and customer feedback to develop strategies, coaching your team to effectively communicate AWS’s value proposition.
