Job Purpose
The Risk & Resilience Manager will be responsible for driving the implementation, coordination, and continuous improvement of Modon Group’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Resilience frameworks. This role will ensure that both strategic and operational risks are proactively identified and managed, while also embedding a culture of preparedness through business continuity, crisis management, and resilience planning across all segments and geographies of the Group.
Roles, Responsibilities, Duties
Risk Management Responsibilities:
- Implement, and continuously improve the Group’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework in alignment with industry-leading practices.
- Coordinate structured risk assessments across corporate functions and business segments to identify risks at all levels.
- Drive the maintenance of risk registers, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and clear accountability across departments.
- Lead the identification and tracking of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), establish thresholds, and ensure data-driven risk reporting to management.
- Collaborate with business units to develop actionable risk mitigation plans and monitor their implementation through regular progress reviews.
- Conduct horizon scanning and scenario planning to identify emerging risks including but not limited to regulatory and geopolitical developments.
- Establish cross-functional risk working groups and facilitate regular risk committee meetings at both segment and Group levels.
- Integrate risk insights into key decision-making processes such as budgeting, capital investment, strategic planning, and project delivery.
- Prepare high-quality risk reports and insights for presentation to the Executive Committees, ARCC, and Board of Directors.
- Provide risk advisory support on new initiatives, strategic partnerships, and large-scale development projects.
- Design and deliver structured training programs for staff and managers on risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and reporting aligned with Modon’s ERM framework.
Resilience Management Responsibilities:
- Design and oversee the implementation of the Modon Group Resilience Framework, aligned with ISO 22301 and NCEMA 7000 standards.
- Lead the annual Business Impact Analysis (BIA) cycle across all departments, capturing critical processes, recovery time objectives, and interdependencies.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) tailored to each business unit and location.
- Support the development and structuring of crisis management teams (Gold, Silver, Bronze) and their operating procedures across all locations.
- Facilitate scenario-based exercises, tabletop simulations, and live drills to test preparedness for scenarios including but not limited to cyberattacks, natural disasters, supply chain disruption, geopolitical shocks etc.
- Maintain an up-to-date Emergency & Crisis Playbook, including communications protocols, evacuation procedures, escalation matrix, and contact lists.
- Coordinate post-incident reviews and after-action reports to ensure lessons learned are embedded into updated continuity and crisis plans.
- Ensure integration of continuity strategies into contracts, SLAs, and third-party risk assessments.
- Design and roll out a comprehensive training program on business continuity, crisis management, and emergency response tailored to different organizational levels and site-specific needs.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Business Continuity, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Master’s degree or MBA (preferred).
- Professional certifications such as ISO 31000 Risk Manager, CBCI, MBCI, ISO 22301 Lead Implementer, or equivalent
Experience
- Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in enterprise risk, business continuity, or resilience management, preferably within the real estate, infrastructure, or government sectors.
- Experience working in complex organizational structures and multi-site operations is highly desirable.
