JOB TITLE
Manager, Retail Design | MAF Properties | Shopping Malls

ROLE SUMMARY

The position is responsible for managing the tenant design briefing, design approvals (concept and detail design), and site support in line with Asset Management Business Unit Design Criteria. The goal is to deliver stores to the highest standard, creating and maintaining engaging, high-performing retail destinations.

ROLE PROFILE

1. Evolve RID design criteria to align with market trends and customer focus, supporting asset positioning.
2. Brief retail partners on RID, support design approvals, and monitor fit-out, adhering to milestones to avoid rent loss.
3. Provide cost-effective solutions to improve trade performance, ensuring high impact for all parties and customer experience.
4. Participate in weekly forums to share design feedback, support colleagues, and coordinate approvals for MAF malls.
5. Conduct Green Star assessments for projects, following established guidelines and criteria.
6. Minimize design review cycles with clear, constructive, and fair feedback.
7. Monitor project progress via CRM and attend update meetings to keep stakeholders informed.
8. Build relationships with retail partners, mall teams, authorities, suppliers, and RDD divisions.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Minimum 4 years of progressive and successful experience in Retail Design, F&B, or Retail Design Management. Background can be from creative design agency, in-house retail brand design team, or shopping center retail design management.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Architecture / Interior Architecture / Retail Design or equivalent.
3. Strong Communication & Negotiation skills.
4. Capable of managing a broad range of stakeholders, with exposure to senior business leaders. Observational skills and emotional intelligence.
