Job summary

DP World in Dubai is seeking a Head of Section to oversee Registration & Offshore sections, drive target achievement, and ensure alignment with the department's strategy.

You will supervise budgeting, resource allocation, and performance of the section, while providing guidance, coaching, and development to the team.

This role requires strong stakeholder liaison with government entities and the ability to implement process improvements to increase efficiency and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manages the section’s accountabilities to meet targets and align with department strategy for Registration & Offshore sections.
• Act as Head of Section for leasing or licensing during absence.
• Provide specialist knowledge, guidance, coaching, training and development to the section and promote teamwork.
• Approve transactions at delegated level; seek Head of Department approval for higher risk transactions.
• Prepare and analyze reports to inform management about operational results.
• Oversee section’s budget and resources; propose budget and monitor expenses within approved limits.
• Manage Registration & Offshore sections’ expenses within the approved budget.
• Lead section performance by setting targets and developing staff; provide feedback to maximize performance.
• Recommend enhancements to systems, processes and documentation to improve efficiency.
• Liaise with Government entities to stay updated on regulations and ensure compliance.
• Propose and present research results and recommendations to Management to support decisions for Registration & Offshore sections.

Job description

1. Manages the effective achievement of section’s accountabilities through the achievement of its targets and objectives as per its alignment to the Department’s objectives; develop and implement the section’s plans in accordance with the department strategy for both Registration & Offshore sections.

2. To act as the Head of Section for leasing or Licensing during its absence.

3. Manage & control the section, providing specialist knowledge, guidance, support, coaching, training and development and encouraging and ensuring teamwork, and aligning work processes to achieve high performance standards, meet established targets and objectives (accuracy, timeliness, and compliance). Act as a point of reference within own area specialization.

4. Approve transactions as delegated level of authority. Seek Head of Department approval for higher risk transactions Registration & offshore sections.

5. Prepares and analyze reports to inform the management on the operational results.

6. Responsible for section’s resource allocation, including budget and personnel. Propose section’s budget to contribute in the development and preparation of the Department’s budget. Manage the section’s expenses to ensure spending is within the approved budget for both Registration & Offshore sections.

7. Manage the Registration & Offshore sections expenses to ensure spending is within the approved budget.

8. Manages the registration & offshore team performance through setting and achievement of the targets and individual objectives; developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback in order to maximize subordinate and section’s performance.

9. Recommend enhancement on system, process and documentations in order to increase efficiency and effectiveness of transactions Registration & offshore sections.

10. Liaise with various Government entities to update on the latest systems, regulations, rules or requirements in order to align and to be in compliance with their requirements.

11. Propose, recommend, and present the research results and recommendations to the Management to arrive to a sound decision for implementation Registration & offshore sections.
