Job description

Overview

Reporting to the Regional Director of Maintenance, the Manager of Line Maintenance is responsible for managing all aspects of maintenance at their assigned station(s).

Responsibilities
  • Supervises Technical Representatives and/or Line Maintenance Supervisor(s) as assigned. Coordinates personnel schedules to provide maintenance as required in support of aircraft operations.
  • Ensures the safe and efficient maintenance of company aircraft within his geographic area, in accordance with company policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for managing, coordinating and providing oversight for approved Contract Maintenance Providers in his geographic area as necessary.
  • Ensures personnel under his supervision are trained and qualified in accordance with GMM policies and procedures. Assigns, monitors and documents on-job training as required to ensure a proficient, trained and qualified workforce.
  • Monitors Flight Schedules and fleet status to ensure best use of resources, ground time parameters, and aircraft routing. Coordinates line maintenance requirements with MCC, Maintenance Stations, Materials, Quality Control, and A/C Planning/Marketing Departments.
  • Maintains surveillance of line maintenance activity at assigned station(s). Provides resources and technical support as necessary in cases of major mechanical problems.
  • Responsible for the timely repair of deferred maintenance items. Plans and assigns specific repairs to qualified personnel consistent with availability of materials and aircraft ground time.
  • Ensures communication between Maintenance shift personnel regarding aircraft status and incomplete maintenance issues to ensure that maintenance not completed as a result of shift changes or other interruption is completed before an aircraft is returned to service.
  • Responsible for timely return of correct and accurate aircraft maintenance log pages to HDQ.
  • Coordinates with MCC for maintenance and aircraft status information. Maintains liaison with MCC for planning purposes and routing of aircraft with significant maintenance problems to stations where repairs can be effectively accomplished with minimum disruption to aircraft scheduled pattern.
  • Monitors mechanical problems, Aircraft and Powerplant performance, Repeat Item and Oil Watch Programs. Formulates corrective action plans in coordination with MCC.
  • Provides technical assistance and coordinates with operators that have contractual obligations and/or maintenance agreements.
  • Maintains communication with Regional Manager to ensure cost effective application of resources and provisioning at respective stations.
  • Monitors line station spare engines and regional availability of lease engines.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director of Line Maintenance.
  • Ensures maintenance representatives / personnel under their supervision are adequately trained and appropriately qualified to perform assigned duties.
  • The Manager of Line Maintenance may delegate/designate all or specific authorities of the office, performing all its major functions to a qualified individual as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years managerial experience.
  • Must hold a current and valid FM Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant.
  • Must maintain Company required qualification and authorization for Airworthiness Release.
  • Must possess detailed knowledge of aircraft and avionics systems and principles of troubleshooting.
  • Must be able to gain entry and work visas to countries the company operates into.
  • Travel to destinations to support the operation.
  • Hold a full driving license for the location and country.
  • Be able to obtain all security passes including airport driving permits and able to escort third parties privileges at the location.
  • Work as a team member and alone with attention to returning detailed reports as required.
  • Work a flexible schedule to suit the operation.
