Job description

We are seeking a Manager - Merchant Acquiring Sales to acquire new merchants for merchant acquiring products/solutions, while managing relationships with mid-size and large merchants.

This role is responsible for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of Business Development Executives (BDEs) and Business Development Managers (BDMs) by implementing rigorous sales activity tracking, optimizing sales and merchant application processing, and eliminating non-value-adding tasks from their daily operations.

Additionally, the incumbent should establish strong collaboration with the Merchant Product, Service, and Portfolio Management teams to facilitate continuous feedback and insights from existing and prospective customers. This includes monitoring market developments related to RAKBANK merchant products and ensuring effective communication of relevant information. The role also involves developing and implementing corrective action plans to address challenges and improve service delivery.

What You Will Be Doing

  1. Manage BDEs and BDMs daily, including activities, leads management, creation, and progression towards materialization. Coach and guide sales personnel in managing potential customer engagements.
  2. Review and align the incentive mechanism and plans of sales personnel with business targets.
  3. Ensure sales incentive plans and business targets are aligned and reviewed regularly to ensure correctness and identify improvement opportunities.
  4. Develop and oversee training programs for sales teams, including Sales, Product, and Solutions training.
  5. Develop individual training and development plans for each Sales executive.
  6. Handle new and potential merchant inquiries, set up merchant applications, and acquire new merchants. Communicate proactively with merchants regarding business issues and opportunities.
  7. Drive new merchant acquisitions and develop ongoing merchant relationships.
  8. Implement strategic plans for new program requirements and design solutions for acquiring, growing, and retaining business.
  9. Resolve problems, including escalating issues to appropriate departments.
  10. Generate and ensure accuracy of merchant metrics, meet reporting deadlines.
  11. Grow the portfolio through merchant acquisition, sales, and relationship management activities, analyzing MIS reports for performance and profitability.
  12. Identify areas for improvement in merchant onboarding and application processing to increase sales activity and efficiency.
  13. Act as liaison for BBG and WBG sales teams, as well as Merchant Acquiring Product, Service, and Portfolio Management teams.
  14. Ensure BDEs and BDMs take necessary corrective actions regarding merchant pricing, requests, operational, and compliance requirements.
