Job summary

ADNOC Group in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior Market Intelligence and Strategy leader to shape marketing strategy for DM&T, study international and regional market conditions, and guide business decisions. You will lead market research, competitive intelligence, and corporate strategy, delivering insights to top leadership.

You will manage a department, develop UAE Nationals through PDPs, and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to align with ADNOC’s objectives and governance standards.

Qualifications

  • 15 years’ experience in Business Development and Marketing.
  • 10+ years in managerial/advisory roles.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas industry is required.

Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE:

Manage the marketing strategy at DM&T, lead the study/ analysis major international and regional market conditions, competitors and customers for business-decision making.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Job Specific:
Market Research & Analysis:
  • Ensure effective and optimal strategic and business planning is executed through participation in the market research methodology in the areas of oil and gas, global energy sector and related industries.
  • Lead the development of enhanced market research capabilities in the areas of oil & gas, the global energy sector and relevant industrial sectors linked to Abu Dhabi’s markets.
  • Provide expertise on energy markets to the ADNOC Group CEO, the TEO, and the ADNOC senior leadership.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with market leading service providers and international bodies from which insights and information may be gained.
  • Develop and enhance relationships with relevant national bodies (MOE, ADIA, EAA Mubadala ADWEC etc).
Competitive Intelligence Management:
  • Define intelligence gathering objectives and schedule data collection and analysis.
  • Manage contracts with global technical and commercial intelligence leaders to analyze and advice on assets, companies and markets.
  • Lead the study/ analysis and distribute intelligence on major international and regional market conditions, competitors and customers for business-decision making.
  • Develop competitive Intelligence function staff capabilities and ensure it has the resources necessary to gather and analyze data.
  • Lead the Competitive Intelligence outgoing analysis and conclusions and make regular presentations of findings to senior management and other client groups.
  • Ensure a rapid-response to priority requests from CEO and Abu Dhabi Government authorities and UAE Ministries.
Corporate Strategy:
  • Participate in the development and refinement of the vision and strategy of the ADNOC Group.
  • Support the enhancement of corporate governance, management and corporate decision making in line with CEO’s Transformation agenda.
  • Compile distribute and present existing industry best-practice scenarios to business line leaders.
Management:
  • Plan and supervise the activities of the personnel and resources of the Department to achieve the Division objectives in an efficient and cost-conscious manner while ensuring implementation of approved operational plans for the Department in line with Division objectives.
  • Develop the knowledge, competencies and innovative spirit in the Department and support the establishment of Personal Development Plans (PDP’s), Succession Planning and Talent pipeline within the Department in coordination with the Human Capability Group to continuously develop employees with emphasis on UAE Nationals to meet Emiratization targets.
Budgets and Operational Plans:
  • Compile and provide input for preparation of the Division budgets and regularly monitor expenditure against approved the Department budget levels.
  • Investigate, highlight and reconcile any significant variances to ensure effective performance and cost control.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures:
  • Lead the implementation of approved Department policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures and internal controls in order to support execution of the Division work programs in line with Company and International standards.
Performance Management:
  • Implement the Company Performance Management System for individuals within the Department in accordance with Company approved guidelines and continuously monitor the achievement of the Department KPIs related to the approved Annual Performance Management Contract and the Balanced Score Card.
Organization Structure and Development:
  • Review, develop and recommend the appropriate organisation structure for the Department that will best utilise human capital while proactively incorporating sustainability into the on-going work practices to meet the business objectives.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
  • Encourage innovation, enhance employee motivation and support initiatives for implementation of Change Management to continuously improve operations and services.
  • Propose improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the Department.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability:
  • Support the institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures, systems & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines across the Department in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
  • Ensure adequate HSE training and induction for all Department employees to meet HSE standards.
Management Information Systems (MIS) and Reports:
  • Prepare all Department Management Information System and progress reports to provide accurate and timely reports and necessary information to Company Management to effectively manage the business.
Generic Management:
  • Plan and supervise the activities of the personnel and resources of the Department to achieve the Division objectives in an efficient and cost-conscious manner while ensuring implementation of approved operational plans for the Department in line with Division objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics or Engineering disciplines.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills:
  • 15 years’ experience in Business Development, Competitive Intelligence and Marketing, including at least 10 years in similar managerial & advisory roles.
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas industry is required.
Professional Certifications:
  • Master’s degree or professional certification in Marketing is preferred.
